Is it worth buying a 1991 NSX automatic with 183K miles for $18000 ???

Just because becausemy girl does not like flashy cars why should I get a new one??? Just because I am not rich like you having a NSX at this time why should I get a new car.

Doc was being facetious......Remember you are on NSXPRIME......

I just bought a '91 5spd with 171k on the clock. I'm not worried. First, its a Honda and its not burning oil. I also plan on doing any work that needs to be done myself. I'm not sure I'll LIKE doing the work, but that's my plan. My first purchase for the car will probably be a service manual, then those bilsteins! I also had the luxury of knowing the previous owner for years and seeing how he took care of the car, which is probably the number one reason I decided it was okay to buy a high mileage car.

If you do not mind me asking, how much did you pay for your car???

$18k. The way I look at it, I'm kind of a gearhead and can probably maintain the car myself, with some help from the guys here on prime. The car is a fun car that I'll drive a couple times a week, so I won't be piling on the mileage in a big hurry.

I just bought an automatic for my wife with 42,000 miles for 21,000.00.
Perfect shape and all maintinance done including timing belt & water pump.

I wanna thank everyone for their input. I decided not go through with this purchase. It sounds like the majority is saying that there will be lots of wear and tear and lots of money going to be spent sooner rather than later compared to a lower mileage one. The colour is black on this one but I really like the red or silver more, but I cannot be pickey when buying a used one. I hope to get one soon and I will be on the lookout for one. Many prime members told me to be patient and it will come. Thank you all prime members!

Sweet purchase man! I saw the post about when you purchased it but didn't realize it was such a screaming deal. Congrats man!

Thanks Cliff....
I need to hook up with you and pick up a headlight setup for it.
Great talking to you the other day by the way...
