Interior panel adhesive recommendation

I had to remove the lower instrument panel to repair something deep in the dash. After removing the panel, I noticed that the vinyl material covering the panel has pulled away from the panel itself (see attached pic). I think this can easily be resolved with placement of the appropriate adhesive; however, what adhesive do you all recommend?

Would simply using Superglue (Cyanoacrylate) work or would it potentially discolor the panel/vinyl over time?

Don't use superglue. Use 3M spray adhesive which is made for use on headliners etc. You can get it at your local auto parts or possibly local hardware store.

mine did the same thing, used 3m adhesive spray/ didnt work, used Hot glue/ didnt work, used super glue/didnt work,, tried everything nothing,, nothing sticks to the freaking insulator under the leather,, ended up using Duct tape/ which didnt work well either but it held long enough to press it back under the dash! I am going to Buy a new one from someone or the dealer if they still can get it!

You will need to use a contact adhesive. Stop by a local upholstery shop and ask if they can poor you of a pint or so (bring a container with a lid). You can apply lightly with a brush on both surfaces. Allow dry to no tack and stick them together.

I used 3M contact spray adhesive. It worked great! Spray both sides let dry fully. then apply together. Just like new.

Try liquid nails. Put some on the leather and the plastic surface. Then use clamps to hold the leather. Do a small area at a time. Start with the tightest corners.

I had my knee bolster releathered at the dealer (David McDavid Acura of Austin, TX) for $150 (they sub it to a local guy) who does interior car upholstery work. He commented that the leather is cut too short for the panel.

I would definitely try some of the other suggestions that have been posted here, I have had good luck with 3M and loctite products but I have not attempted to use them for this repair.

If it doesn't work, at least you have a point-of-reference for what it will cost to have it professionally repaired.
