I just wanted to post some pics of my new seats and would like to see some other interiors for those of you guys that got yours done.
I got the leather kit from Northwest Automotive Leathers LTD. in Canada. The people there are real friendly and I got my kit about 3 days faster than I thought I would. They also did a follow up call to ensure that I was happy with their product. Guys, if your leather is a little worn like mine was don't hesitate to visit their website, email and/or give them a call.

Those look pretty good!
I don't care for the different colour patches on the sides personally but the centre contrast is nice .
They look pretty good fit though from the pics. Do these just pull on (i.e. take the original cover off & replace with new)? If you can describe the installation briefly that would be helpful.
Did you feel the fit is as good as new? Do they do custom colours? How much?

Ditto on the price. I only see the two toned color on their website. Can you order just plain black? How hard to install and how much?

The silver leather covers look great against the sebring silver NSX. Post some more pictures and some more information if you don't mind.

Lookin Good,
Mike

Before

Thanks for all the good compliments....I was able to pull my seats apart/pull off the old leather and pull on the old.
- I unscrewed the seat controls from the side and then I started with the 4 pins under the bottom center cushion (I had to just break the pins off because they were kind of old and dry. I found the same replacement pins at LOWES hardware. There are also 2 screws that hold on the leather to the outsides of the 4 clips.
- I had to peal a small part of the yellow foam off the metal frame of the seat under the bottom center cushion (be careful!). That gave me access to the internal areas of the seat and then I just started to pop out all the plastic pins I saw (some didn't make it).
- The cushions were also hooked in with these long plastic clips that connected to the frame where the two center cushions met (were the seat folds in half). There are 3 small clips that connect the top center cushion to the back of the seat right under the headrest. After I poped those clips off, the seat was completely disassembled.
- The sides and back is held together with velcro and plastic pins. I just had to use some needle nose to squeeze and pop the pins out. That large piece wrapped around the seat like a jacket. There are also 2 long and 2 short plastic clips that attach the leather to the very bottom of the seat frame. The 2 long clips pop out and the short ones slide out.
- The headrest was held in by 2 metal clips underneath the top center cushion. The leather was easily removed by unsnaping the 3 clips that held the leather on and pulled the leather off the headrest cushion.
- I simply did the reverse to put the seats back together and the only challenging part was cutting the holes in the sides to install the seat controls.

The kit cost me $695 and the "NSX" in the head rest were an additional $50. My local auto upholster shop charged me $70 to do the center cushions. I had taken the center cushions to them becuase I didn't have the tools to replace the bull rings that held the leather pieces onto the cushion and I wanted them to fit tight.

I believe guys at Northwest can make them in any color and pattern that you chose and it took about 10 days from the time of my order for me to get my kit (FEDEX ground shipping). The leather quality of the kit is alot thicker than my old factory leather - plus it has given my X that new car smell again.

Hi

Looking at your old seat I was wondering how many miles did you have on that seat?

My NSX has now 81.000miles and the seats are worn, but good. I saw another NSX here in Norway that had 74.000 miles where the seats were like yours.

Regards

hmmm... not all owner are as obsessed as the one that applied softener on yours every two/three months, even during the winter sleep! :p ;)

Alomost forgot: avoid jeans while driving! My GF was so pissed off when I asked her to change the jeansin order not to scratch the leather... but jeans are terrible on leather! It is almost like wearing sandpaper... :(

um,, that is a good one!!!

From now on, I will strictly enforce that.. No jean, no harsh material... girls can only wear soft silky lingerie.. or butt nake.. ;)

um.. on a second thought... that might not be a good idea either..

Hi

Glad I bought that one obsessed guys NSX then :D

I think that NSX found a new obsessed owner.. walked about 14 kilometers to the garage and back on sunday. With a backpack with Coca Cola, chocolate and "leather smoother stuff" :D :D

I take notes about everything on my palmtop so I will do the same in 2 months again.

The seats are as smooth as a babies ass now :) :)

Okey the list is getting long now. I "need" a Tag Heuer Ayrton Senna, new suite from Armani, some new cologne, new job and now some new driving pants to use when driving the NSX? :p :D

It has bothered me actually about using jeans so those times are over.

You can tell your GF that I am coming down to Zurich this summer and we will go clubbing without her if she wears jeans in your black NSX :D :D

Regards

Hello

Please tell us how you mounted that speaker on the door panel, I am drooling!!

Door Panel

I used the factory speaker grill in my fiberglass mold that I wrapped in Fleece around it and the wooden speaker mount.
I also fiberglassed the tabs that hold in the factory speaker grill
in to make them approximately 1/2" longer so be able to screw it into the door for more stability. After the fiberglass cured I took it to a body shop and had them sand and paint it. Hopefully this helps you out, just make sure you're careful with your speakers,
I've had 3 sets of my Infinity Kappa Perfects 6.1's either kicked in or hit by the vacuum cleaner hose.

Wow!

What an improvement!

That is definitely worth the money, when you did it yourself.

Looks great and I really like the two color combination. It gives the interior a sportier appearance.

Wow, that looks great! It almost makes me sad my seats are in great shape, otherwise I'd have an excuse to do this. :)

That is a very creative way to get someone out of their pants, no?:p
