Since I am sure there are more than a couple dozen NSX enthusiasts here, who have thoroughly researched every aspect of the cars design, I was wondering if anyone else has come across the incredible likenesses of the interior of our cars, and the 300ZX by Nissan? We are doing some turbo upgrades to a 300 at my shop right now, and this morning when i pulled it in, I noticed that it felt like I was sitting in my NSX. I parked them side by side and was floored at the incredible resemeblances in the two interiors. I've enlcosed a couple photos for comparision. Any thoughts??

I own both ('00 NSX, '93 300ZXtt). I don't find them that similiar, but I will say it is hard to decide which is more comfortable.

I was always extremely impressed with the comfort and control of the ZX and with the 4-wheel steering, it is one of the best cornering cars ever. It loves twisty roads just like the NSX. My 5-speed has a 4th gear very similiar to the feel of the 4th in the NSX. The Z is a great car and I am real anxious to see the new ones.

300 ZX

Both cars were out in 1990, so I don't know that I can say one copied the other. However, I remember reading that for the 300 ZX, they based the interior off the Porsche 928. As for the NSX, I have no idea.

Any thoughts??

I think that those two-tone seats are really ugly.

BTW, what killed the Z (IMO) was the lack of a desirable vision of what the car ought to be. Each generation was more expensive, heavier, and more of a luxury car, less of a sports car. Before it was finally killed in '96, the 300ZX Turbo weighed 3500 pounds.

It's nice to see that Nissan apparently once again has a vision of the Z as an affordable, high-performance, lighter-weight car. It will be interesting to see the 350Z once it's out and we know the numbers and we'll see how it tests out.
