installing keyless entry but the car keeps alarming

for some reason my car keeps alarming once i connected the two wires to the security system 16 pin.

anybody know the reason for this?

i got the red and yellow wires at the right slots.

everytime i would put the negative terminal the car would alarm on its own.

anybody experience this?

Ok, I've fixed it. Since I was doing this at night, I first disconnected all three horns. Then, I reconnected the battery, and while the lights were still jumping around, I just put my key in the driver's side door and unlocked the door. That turned the alarm off (whew). I tested the remote (works fine), then reconnected all of the horns.

I guess I was skeptical about trying this approach because when I first connected the red and yellow wires into the harness connector, the alarm went off and nothing seemed to turn it off. I was being a bit of a rebel and installed it without disconnecting the battery first. Well, my neighbors got an earful from that approach...

Now I can sleep tonight knowing this job is done.....
