**** 1/10 update **** EVENT CANCELLED ****

Due to a lack of payments received by today's deadline we've been forced to cancel this track day. I apologize for the inconvenience to those of you who planned on attending. TMR, S2KCA, & NASA will likely have a Plan B for you soon. Stay tuned....

Your friends at the S2000 Club of America and TrackMasters Racing have put together a track day at Infineon Raceway (formerly Sears Point) for Monday January 24th. We have decided to discount the entry fee for all Honda and Acura drivers. Regular price is $285 for the day, but if you drive your Acura or Honda out there you'll only pay $250. Pretty cool huh?

Click here for event details and registration info.

See you at the track!!

I hate to say it, but this event is in danger of being cancelled unless we get more signups real soon. Whether you're an old hand at HPDE's or simply curious about finding out what your NSX can do on one of the premier racetracks on the continent, you're certainly welcome to come out and play with the rest of us hooligans.

So whaddayasay...? Go ahead and link over and get yourself registered in the next few days.

I hope to see you there!

I am deeply depressed....I am in Guatemala that week. If I could reschedule my business trip I would. I am very upset to miss this opportunity at Infinion. Have fun.

Folks, $250 at Infineon is a great bargain. And some of those S2000 can really put our touring NSXs through its paces if not shame ......... The deadline for the organizers is January 3rd, and registration is rain out insured so it can't get better than this. And cool air means more hp too

I'm tempted to sign up, but I would have drop off the kids at daycare/preschool in Fremont and then trek up to Sonoma so the earliest I could get there would be around 9:30am. Does anyone know what's the latest you can show up if I wanted to participate?

Thanks.

Otto

To my knowledge, all HPDE track programs require that all drivers attend the driver's meeting which often starts at 8:00 AM (some a bit earlier some a bit later depending on the schedule).

Novice and low intermediate level drivers/students are also required to attend classroom sessions, and they often start at 9:00 AM.

You may want to get in touch with Doug Gale, the founder/organizer of TrackMatsers and see what he says. I think a few NSXs will show up if it's a go.

And I sure hope you have a backup plan for picking the kids

The wife is responsible for pickup.

I just bribed the wife to do double duty that day so I think I'm good.

Anyone know how to get in touch with Doug or know the status of this event?

I sent an email on Sunday and also left a voicemail with him yesterday, but haven't heard back.

I need to schedule babysitting and bribes for the wife. It's not often I get a chance to go to the track.

Thanks.

Doug here... Joe, I've been away from the house the past few days, so my cell and home numbers haven't been too effective - Sorry about that!

The event is looking sketchy right now. We need about 60 drivers to 'break even' and we're very short on sign-ups, and even shorter on payments. We recently decided to extend the deadline to register and pay from Jan 3 to Jan 10. Given today is Jan 5, we may be able to make a final call for the event this weekend.

If we cancel, plan 'B' is for TMR to have a DEDICATED run group/session within the NASA event on Jan 22 and/or Jan 23.(# of days depends on the amount of interest) No other NASA drivers will be allowed - just TrackMasters drivers. We've done this before and mix Intermediate drivers with Advanced and modify the passing rules to keep it safe for all. No Novice drivers unless you bring your own instructor and can adhere to the passing rules.

The run groups are fairly small too - approx. 20 cars. More space means more open track and less potential for 'issues' while out on course. This format gives the participants (4) 25 minute sessions per day, and the cost for one day will be around $175, and about $275 for both days. A very good deal for those who want to run both days.

We'll post the 'final answer' here as soon as we make the call. Thanks and have a great week!

This is all true gang but keep in mind that at the NASA days you won't get as much seat time as you would if we get enough support for the TMR/S2KCA event on Monday. The weekend stuff is only a backup plan!

Sorry gang.... this event bit the dust. Lots of signups but too few payups doomed us. Next year we'll rock a better Infineon track day with more advanced notice and stuff. Sorry if this screwed up anybody's plans. We waited as long as we could.

Plan B will be formalized and announced shortly... stay tuned!

Bummer, I was really hoping to get some tracktime with the S2k. :frown:
Plan B is definitely out for me.

BTW: Since the event is cancelled, I'm hoping for a refund, and *not* an automatic rollover to whatever Plan B might be.
