If you couldn’t drive a NSX what would be your second choice?

I got my NSX in '99 with a budget of $70K. I considered a Viper coupe, higher boost Supra, boosted Corvette,... Today, it would be an Elise. If in the future, it would be an Exige.

If I had the Cash, 911 GT2 Tech-art.....but I would of kept my Type-R and made it a 400-550whp monster.....give the exotics a smokin.

It'd be a sad, sad world w/o a NSX!

If there never was a NSX... (gosh, that just sends chills down my spine  )

How was the test drive?

Unfortunately it rained, but I did took it out for a short drive though. Nice looking interior-
fully leather electric seat
speedometer and rev not too much different(I felt) to the RX7.
Exterior looks appealing- except maybe the rear
Drove it only about 10mins - Definitely know its a rotary in its belly with the sound. For the short drive the ride feels ok, but as I said unable to fully appreciate it due to weather.Maybe next time.

As I climbed back into my NSX... even for a 2004 RX8, my 12yr old NSX still feels more refined but I'm probably bias

I would drive:

'97 Acura Integra Type-R

'91 BMW M3

'95 BMW M3 Lightweight

'99 BMW M3

'04 BMW M5

'02 Honda S2000

'05 Lotus Elise

haha although i'm sure when you hit WOT the 'butt dyno' registered alot faster feeling in the Rx7 though eh? i test drove an rx8 and ride in my friends rx8 alot, it feels like the limit (spin happy wise) is very high compared to the rx7. I wonder if it has the magic 'Super Spin Mode (just add water)' that the much loved Rx7 had?

Now that i think about it though, i think that Lotus Elise (non porky usdm version) with the Type R engine in it or the Lotus Exige with the S2000 engine in it would be a nice alternative if i didnt have my nsx

Have to go with the Elise here.

A Lotus Elise!

And if I couldn't drive my Elise, the NSX would be my 2nd Choice!

Do you have pics of your Elise?? That blue sounds cool.

Mitch,

I've been meaning to take some shots but haven't gotten to it. Here's a pic of a fellow Elise owner who also owns a Laser Blue. It's a really nice color. Once I saw it I knew that was it...

I'm also thinking about painted stripes.... Either white or these Chrome Orange Metallic (which is the Orange version of the Laser Blue with the metallic and pearlescent).

If there was no NSX and I was looking in the same price range as 97-00, I would go with the C6 Z51 6-speed. Hard to beat that bang for the buck and the interior is much better than previous vettes.
