If they're free - Which one you'll take? M3 or ISF

You honestly don't know anyone that has spent a fortune maintaining an E46 or E36 M3? I don't know anyone who owned them more than a couple years while near brand new that didn't. My E46 had 10k+ in warranty work done 1k miles before the factory warranty expired. Many E36 M3 owners have spent more on maintenance than the value of the cars themselves.

Maintenance costs outside of the warranty will be higher as you have to pay the M tax. Regarding reliability my E46 buddies are not much worse than what I have to deal with on my NSX.

Im not sure how any sober person can look at these pics and not think the Lexus is butt ugly from every few except dead on......

IMHO........

I agree completely but everyone has different tastes though the IS-F is a really hard pill to swallow. It looks just as bad in person...

I'd take the ISF if it were more reliable.... My BMW has cost me almost my entire savings since the warranty expired less than a month ago... First the starter, then the alternator (and mine had some super rare one not used on 99.999% of the 3 series, no one knows why) and NOW the on board computer is glitching. Mind you the warranty ended LESS THAN a month ago...

Nevermind the $10,000 + of warranty work that was covered and I've not even had the "subframe repair" needed...

I'm surprised to hear about the cost of maintenance on M3's from others. I know parts tend to be high. I own a "poor man's" M3, a 2003 330I sedan. Great car! The best DD I have ever owned. Yes, I like my NSX more.

I've owned a 5 series in the past and now own a IS 250...The BMW's build quality was CRAP(buttons breaking, water pump issues, electrical issues)... the Lexus on the other hand is the smoothest car I've ever driven and the buttons actually work and don't break off...

ISF hands down....

ISF for me because I tend to drive cars until they are undrivable.

Well, if this actually happened I would sell it afterwards and buy another car because I think they are both ugly and weigh too much.

I'd rather lease the M3, I'd rather own the lexus.

But, I don't lease and I keep cars for a long time and drive them a lot. I've had my BMW experience. It lasted 2 years, and that was MORE than enough. I spent WAY more on a 330Ci that was under warranty the whole time I owned it than I have on my lexus in 100k, and that includes the timing belt on the lexus.

I love the ISF but I would probably take the M3 saloon based on the ability to get it with a proper manual transmission.

M3, looks much better, it's a 2dr, it's an M3. I've heard/read about the horrible reliability though, nonetheless, M3.

Having owned both badges, I would go with the IS-F. I'm a picky owner when it comes to interiors. No matter the model, BMW, IMHO still has yet to produce an interior that is Lexus quality. For some reason they STILL use that crappy looking amber LED display. It looks like a damn dot matrix. This combined with reliability, service department, and overall dealer experience make it a no-brainer for me. Everyone's got an opinion. . . .

Cadillac CTS-V anyone?
6.2L supercharged, 556 HP V8?
7:59.32 around the Nürburgring?
