I want a JGTC style c.f. race/street car. They look awesome!

I don't know about Michigan, however, over in Wisconcin, you have one of the best Acura dealers in the nation for the NSX (in my opinion), Acura of Brookfield. http://www.acurabrookfield.com/

We also have several dealers in the Chicago area which are highly competent and 100 miles closer than Acura of Brookfield. At least one of the Chicago dealers, Woodfield Acura, has experience with short gears, ring and pinion, exhaust, and header installs (as well as a lot of routine NSX service experience). For anything beyond that - such as forced induction mods - it's probably worth going the extra 100 miles to Wisconsin.

NSX-R 4.23 R&P are 1100 or so from Dali
Exhaust is something like 1500 from CT.
Cams are 3400 from Comptech

The ONLY way to get 400hp from an NSX engine while staying N/A will make the car so undriveable on the street that it'd be irritating as hell to even get it started.
I was planning on building a 360-hp N/A car until I looked at this:
Motec Fuel Controller $6,000.00
TWM Velocity Stacks &8,000.00
High Compression Pistons $2,600.00
High Lift Cams $3400.00
Head Port and Polish $1800.00
High Lift Springs and retainers : 900.00
Lexan Hatch and duct $1,200.00
Headers $1,300.00
Exhaust $1,200.00
Cat Bypass Pipes $250.00
Forged Connecting Rods $2500.00
For a WHOPPING Total of $29,150
NOT including Suspension, (1800.00)
Brake's ($3,000.00 for Brembo Lotus FRONT set only) New wheels to accomodate the Brake's, tires, and the Non Compliance Toe Links and Suspension beam.
Ooo, don't forget the Race seats, harness bar and belts. (Another $3,000.00+)

And these numbers don't include labor.

40K will not even come close. Not to mention all the body work you want done. (Another 15K if you use the CT Widebody as a reference kit)

OR your other option: BB Supercharger +Headers + exhaust $8300.00.
380rwhp.
'nuff said.

Has anyone here looked into getting these "throttle kits" that are available in Japan? I can't read Japanese by the way, but I was flipping through a couple of magazines and for about 750,000 yen, you can get one of these kits. Not sure what else it comes with, and not even sure what the horse power gain is. To tell the truth, I haven't got a clue what it does. I think they're just individual throttle bodies. They sorta look like webbers (maybe they are webbers???).

In a "Best Motoring" video my friend sent me, they were doing a comparison of all these tuned NSXs (including supercharged, and twin turbo), and the one with this "throttle kit" seemed to be the fastest.

And back to the subject...Racer, if you're even thinking about racing this car, why bother with a stereo?

Peter, the Throttle Kits are individual Throttle bodies attached to each Cylinder (to give a rough description) thus giving you the ultimate in intake performance, at the cost of low end power as you lose the VVIS.

The cost does not include a new fuel management system which is required to meet the demands of that Throttle Stack kit. Also, Revolution quotes roughly 20-30hp gain from that mod. Its basically the last step in induction performance that you can do. Mostly done on race cars, as putting air filters on them reduces their overall performance and many racecars dont run with air filters.
Just open stacks.
ALL ENGINE BABY..
