Ok, time is 18:20 hours.
Am waiting for a restore from a backup-server and am not planning to do much more. Will take another 30 minutes.
So what to do now. Have read all the last posts on NSXprime and am biding my time.

Then I look outside....

It has been pouring rain for the last couple of days and only this afternoon that things start to clear up a bit.
My NSX outside has become pretty dirty (in my eyes) since I washed it last Friday. I especially dislike the way the rear-end looks when it's dirty since that's the part most other drivers on the road will see.
So here I go, taking a empty plastic trashcan, remove the garbage-bag, fill it up with hot water, put in the NSX-sponge and some carwash and here I am, washing my car in front of the office. Standard routine, rear-fenders first, then tail, then doors, & roof, front fenders, front hood and then the wheels.
Rinse it off with a new bucket of clean water. No towel to dry the car but anyway, it dry pretty quick since I'll be leaving in about five minutes.

Put back the trash can in it's please, check the restore and now I'm off for home.

My quess (and judging by the looks from some other office people) I must definitely be going crazy.

Or not ??

Haha.. I totally understand..

My neighbor saw me washing my car quite frequently... and one day, she said, "you seem to wash your car all day everyday... do you ever work or have a life other than washing your car??"

What can I do... it rains too often in Boston.

This is the preferred technique for those of us on trips who like to keep our NSX clean but, with capacity-constrained storage inside the car, don't have room to bring a pail. Fortunately, all hotel rooms come equipped with these "car wash pails". ;)

Oh, I forgot.
After washing it, it took a picture of course.
(I quess, If my NSX had a wall inside, it would be full of pictures of itself) ;)

MvM,

Wow she looks beautiful, I am sure your Nsx appreciates what you did. Once, in the winter, I washed my car by going in and out of the house filling a bucket with warm water. So hey, your not alone. However, still have yet to clean the car at work though. I'll have to put that on my things to do before I die list.

kld12,

The crazy thing, especially if you think about it, is that the other car (no, not a her, or she or whatever, just the-other-car) get's cleaned maybe three times a year and even then only in a car-wash.
The NSX is certainly the only car I've ever had in my entire life that make me do crazy things like that.

Red shouldn't be too bad. Its very easy to take care off. My RX7 is red and I wash it maybe once every month. I feel sorry for some of my friends who have black cars. They seem to be washing their cars way too often.

Tell me about it! I washed my NSX and Mustang last month. Not even a week later, the black Mustang looks like crap with a thick layer of dust on it. The red NSX, still looks good. No more black cars for me until I can afford to have a personal car wash attendant!

I wash my NSX so often I'm actually getting kinda embarrassed when my neighbors are out since it looks like I neglect other things like washing my daily driver & mowing my lawn! I have been known to wash it out in the pouring rain, then dry it in the garage, washed it late nite w/ a halogen lamp, washed it in the middle of the winter that the water beads froze before I could dry it! I am nuts! I just paid a detailer to come to my work to polish it, a regular hand wash & vacuum is $25 so I'll probably go that route every other time so don't look like I have OCD to my neighbors!

And the neigbours, my mother, my family... everybody thought I was crazy. Now I do not do this anymore...

..I got a daily driver! :D

I am glad to hear others share/suffer from "OCD NSX cleanliness". My disorder has recently reached severe stages as the interior now begs to exhibit that wet leather look thoughout.
I find myself washing it, driving it, washing it, driving it, etc as well. Probably would not be the case had I bought a non-black car though. Even though its tough to keep shiny, well worth it just to see it gleam in the dark of night.

So ok,

it's official now I think.

The average NSX get's washed at least five times more often than any other car. And when the weathers gets worse, the ratio probably increases even more.
Following this logic, it is therefore save to say that the average NSX looks at least twice as good on the road as any other car.

But then again, for us lucky NSX-owners, we all already knew this of course :D

And with a NSX to wash, it's not a burden. It's FUN !!

MVM: You're not crazy at all... you're as normal as the rest of us here on prime...
err....moving right along... ;)

What is crazy though is you waited for a restore from a backup-server... time to get some remote-access happening so you can start it and check it quickly from home. Then again, if they're paying you by the hour...... :D

Neo,
Waiting for the restore was not the problem (after all, I had something very useful to do). But had to put the backup-tapes for the night back into the library.

Note: my washing in the snow happened... on the 25th of December 2000! My mother could not believe this... and after she snapped the photos with my brother's digital camera, I did send them to the NSX Mailing List!

(of course the same day... X-Mas? Never heard about it! :D)

MvM: ahh... don't u hate that... remote access is great except when u need to do something simple like that, or like inserting a floppy disk. :(

gheba_nsx: ...let me guess, while you were washing your NSX you were singing "We wish you a merry X-mass..." rofl... :D
