Man it's good to be back in the NSX again! After being in the shop for over 6 weeks (mostly waiting on parts from Japan), I finally got to drive it home yesterday.

I've got to hand it to Rob. The car is running absolutely beautifully now -- definitely better than before! I feel like I have more power/better acceleration but it could be my imagination from not having driven it for so long. But it's definitely running smoother/quieter -- no question about that. Rob was meticulous about replacing any parts that were starting to wear out and spent a lot of time getting the valve timing just perfect etc.

I hadn't used Rob before, but he came highly recommended from Stu, Dave, and others. Now I'm VERY GLAD I went with him. The pride in his work, his willingness to explain everything in laymans terms, and his attention to detail are in a class of their own. It's not often you can spend so much money and come away feeling really good about the money you spent. On a 91, you start worrying about things possibly failing -- but after Rob went through it, and completely refreshed the engine I feel like I can throw another 100k km's at it with no worries.

I also have to say that his rates were very reasonable, and I felt bad about hogging up his lift for so long while the parts were delayed from Japan, but he was very gracious about the whole thing. All in all, it was a pleasure dealing with Rob and I would HIGHLY recommend him to any NSX owner looking for any work on their car. He's really out of the way for me, but now I know that if I ever have anything major I need done, I will be taking my car to him alone!

It definitely sucked not having my car for so long, but I still have 2-3 months of decent driving weather so all is not lost yet :-)

welcome back Arshad!

That is great that you were able to get it running again so quickly. I thought it would take longer!

Now your engine is nice and strong. Time to up the boost!

Congrats Arshad. Lets see some updated pics of the car.

What was done exactly?

Who and where is Rob?

Rebuild of the engine, strengthened the bottom end, and rebalanced the entire thing. In addition, gaskets were all replaced, piston ring seals replaced, rod+main bearings replaced, coolants hoses replaced, etc. While he was in there he noticed a couple of other bolts that were missing, some items that were worn and needed replacement etc. All in all, a complete refresh of the engine.

Rob has been working on NSX's since they launched and went to Japan for training. In the Toronto area, he's probably got more NSX experience than anyone else. He's also an NSX owner and regularly tracks his car, so he's got a very good understanding of the car.

Dave: Yeah I'm going to run it as is this year, but will probably look at some other higher horsepower options over the winter. Either AEM+high boost or maybe even bite the bullet and go Turbo.

That's great news Arshad!!!!

You're coming to the cruise right? I can't wait to see it.

Good news Arshad.
Have been thinking of ya all along.
Weather is/has been to nice to be NSXless.
Probably seemed like forever.
As Sean already said, hope to see you on the cruise on the weekend.

Rob:
Thanks for taking car of "us" again!!!
Its a very good feeling knowing you are there when we need you.

Sounds good Arshad. I know exactly what its like to be nsxless. I had my car out of storage on April 10th, and only got it back a few weeks ago! (Pics coming soon).

With Lovefab being so close and his prices falling and the quality of his work holding up after his first cars have now had some milege in them, I say go turbo. I would in a heartbeat if I were to do it all again. Selling that CTSC will fund a lot of it too.

Saw Arshad slide by west beavercreek and 7 at lunch today. He was smiling ear to ear! Good to have you back!

Hope you'll (all) come out to dinner this Thursday! Can't wait to hear the (re)new(ed) engine!

What's the break in period like?

Let me guess....it's like getting to third base with a supermodel. Over and over again!
