Huge Socal Euro Meet/OG Canyon Run April 13th!!!!

OKAY.

THERE IS 4 DAYS LEFT FOR THIS SPORTS CAR MEET/RUN.

LOOKS LIKE IT’S GONNA BE A GOOD CROWD WITH SOME NICE CARS.

SEE YOU GUYS THIS SUNDAY (4/20/03).

I've been looking forward to this canyon run, however it's on Easter and I have family stuff to attend. What time does the event start and approximately end?

It starts at 10:00 AM.

We should be done around 1:00 PM or so.

I know its Easter, but this thing isn't going to last the whole day.

Its more of a morning-noon thing.

You can say woulda-shoulda the day after the run.

Or you can show up and tell people what they missed.

I'll be there for sure. I'm going to church on Saturday night instead. I don't want to miss out on the action. What is the approximate turnout?

I can't be too accurate.

But its safe to say from 20 cars to 40 cars look like might show up.

But remember its not quantity, its quality.

I just got off the phone with my friend that works for GM's concept division here in CA.

You guys just might see a car that is the only one in America.

It is considered the best handling car ever made.

He might shows up. I won't tell you what the car is just yet.

Randy Walters. The World Famous BMW Auto-X champ might show up. He asked me the other day about this meet/run.

So it might be fun from the looks of things.

Oh... He has an NSX too? I'm pretty sure there's more than one. :)
See you tomorrow.

okay...i just got back!!! the turn out was great!!! but the run...from IMO, very unorganize.....a prerun should be done prior to figure out the direction instead of getting lost and making numerous u-turns. anywhoOoooo....it was an experience.

i forgot to add something, Chad...i got your back buddy!!!

I agree about the actual run not running as smooth as it should have.

It was my mistake by letting the Viper guy lead.

I figured letting a more powerful car lead would be in everyone's best interest.

He said he knew the run well and had done this route a lot in the past few months so it would be no problem to follow the map I gave him.

Well, obviously it didn't pan out the way he thought it would.

I should have led the run. It was my mistake not to lead.

I'll admit I didn't remember some parts of the run until we got to the Rock Store biker bar. But I definatly wouldn't have made any mistakes reading the map with step by step directions

Anyhow. I was very happy seeing the NSX guys and all the other cars.

All the cars were sports cars in some shape or form. And we all came out today for the same reason.

And that's all that matters.

i had a good time despite the unorganized nature of the run... the roads were great.. but a little on the high profile side.
does that new m3 usually show up? i don't know if anyone else realized, but he is the driver of the worlds quickest honda.

POST PICS IF YOU GOT 'EM!!

Blame it on the Viper guy huh? Ya ya, I didnt see anyone trying to hard to get in front of me to show me where to go. The whole reason we got all turned around was because of the little missed road and I had it covered. But someone(BMW guy) decided it would be better to make a U turn to head back and find the all important 1 mile section.

Anyways it was fun even though we did get turned around a few times.

PS. JSMDMD,

You are right, what was I thinking driving a Viper and being first:p

Well....now that you mention it...

Actually I give you credit for getting us to where we were supposed to go....
Going as fast as we all were and concentrating on the road, I don't know how you managed to even see the street signs....
Most of them were just a blur to me.... ;)
So.... now don't fall out of your chair.... but,
I, an NSX owner, give you, a Viper owner, a lot of credit.;)
Geez.... did I really just say that????

Any updates on this ??
Surely your friend can't be referring to a GM product.

Nope.

He works for GM's concept studio here in North Holywood.

The car I was refering to was a LHD British Domestic market 1st gen Lotus Elise.

I far as I know. It is the only Elise that is driven on the street here in the US without being converted to a Honda Type-R engine.

But alas he didn't show up. Maybe next time.

That was my first canyon run, and I had a great time! yes, I do wish that we didn't have to make so many u-turns, but that is ok. I wish I could join you guys more often, but I don't get too many weekends off. jsmdmd, thanks for posting the pics they came out great!
