HugaBuga Window Fix Tour SoCal

Thanks Craig for stepping up and hosting a party should we need. The price is inclusive of the entire job, both windows.

Question for you, if we get this going, how long would it take you to repair/upgrade the OEM Bose speakers in each door for those wanting your services? I'm sure you will have some takers.

Yes I can host a day. During the week, the parking lot across the street is usually almost empty.

By the way, is that price per side or for both sides?

If I am handed the Amp/Speaker module, it SHOULD only take a half an hour. But to be safe, I would say an hour each. The reason is, some of the components are "glued" in and that glue has to be carefully removed. With repetition, I may be able to move faster. Also, if folks want, they can pick them up later. You can drive the car without the door card I believe.

I own a business in San Gabriel with a sufficient amount of parking available (enough to fit 10+ cars off the street). The upside is we are here Monday thru Saturday from 9-6 and may even be able to host on Sunday.

By the way, if we do this thing and any of you have the original stereo amplifiers in your doors and/or under the passenger footwell, I can rebuild them for you. I will only charge you for the parts (about $20 per amp I believe). I repaired electronics for almost 40 years and am very familiar with the typical capacitor failure in these amps. I ALWAYS replace all of the capacitors and more importantly, I replace them with the best quality capacitors that I am aware of. I can honestly say that I have replaced thousands of these components in my career and have had essentially no repeat failures.
If this works out, I will need to know how many amps so that I can order the parts ahead of time. I can get them in a couple of days.
Let me know.

Hey Craig,

I was about to look for a stereo specialist on prime and here you are! My stereo has stopped working for a while now, but I was recently told by a fellow prime member that it might be the amp/speakers that's causing the issue. It makes this LOUD *beep* noise when you turn on the stereo. It's quite annoying. Does this problem sound familiar to you?Maybe when it's time to set a date for the LA area, you could help the crew out here as well. I know mcano and kday are gracious enough to host it at their respective places.

Is this going down? Any confirmation yet?

Also, since the door panels are off, any suggestions on what else to do at the same time?

How to clean off the goop and replace? Can you get new plastic sheeting? Or is something better recommended?

Put me down for both Windows also! I just got my nsx and notice that the windows are very slow so this should be the fix from what I researched

I'll add your name to the list but a reminder to all that I would like to get a first name too. Your real name, not your witness relocation handle. Thanks.

Got great news from Hugo and we are on for the 1st. He says he can do up to 20 cars in one day if we all help each other! I know that with all of helping each other it will go quick. If you do have to have anything else done to your car while the door cards are off, I'm sure that can be accommodated. Craig is offering to fix the OEM Bose speakers. Some one has asked about replacing the plastic sheeting inside the door. I don't know if that can be ordered from Acura or not. Some may opt to replace the interior door handles. Point is, whatever else you are having done to the car, be ready for the install yourself when it's your turn. Be considerate of Hugo's time and the time of others.

Hello JC.

Are you talking about Saturday August 1st? If yes, can I be one of the first ones to get my windows fixed? I'm flying out of the country in the late afternoon that day.

Best,

Mario

Sorry Mario, September 1st. We are locked in. As we get closer, I'll get with Tony and PM all of you his address. We will need to sign up for times as to morning or afternoon. As I'll be working, I'll take late afternoon.

Great news JC. I'm looking forward to September first. I assume details will follow.

I'd love to jump in on this, but I'm not sure if I'll be in town Sept 1... If I am, is it cool if I drop by?

Adrian - do you want me to add you as a tentative? I'm sure we could slip you in somewhere.

JC, can you add me as tentative? Dunno if I could take work off that day unless I could squeezed in the early AM.

I'll add you to the party. We can start as soon as tony makes his house available and Hugo can start. I have a feeling this will be a big party so the earlier the better. I've got yoour spot reserved.
