Okay, so I'm a little bit slow sometimes but can someone explain to me how to remove the so called center armrest "inner panel"? This is the 2nd thing that needs to be done on page 20-43 of the 1991 Service Manual when removing the dashboard/center armrest. Is there some trick to doing this? All I seem to be doing is scratching up the top of that panel. Thanks in advance for your help!

You can use a Craftsman screwdriver makes easy work of it....this screwdriver has ridges are just an amazing innovation.

Or you can use a thin paperclip that has a small bend on the end.

Or a dental pick.

Drew
/the screwdriver is pretty good.

The paperclip did the trick....thanks Drew!

glad you did it, when it's out you find the notch cut into one end that eases removal! i cheated and just stuck a piece of masking tape to it, and lifted it out with that!
