I saw this and immediately thought of posting this. This breaks all the rules of trying to sell a car on prime.

First he has no photos and then explains he doesn't want to use PM messages to answer calls. The biggest mistake is not taking the time to post photos. IMO that is critical to getting interest on a sale ad. I looked for a year and a half and just went right on by the ads with no photos. I figured they were not serious enough or just too lazy to deal with.

The ad also states this.
Unfortunately, the first person who calls may be burdened with explaing to me how to download photos onto our NSX Prime website.

I have a sense of humor and am willing to work with you. However, please do not telephone or email me if you do not have the money. I am not interested in helping to finance this purchase. I paid cash for my NSX-T.

Who here actually wants to call someone and explain to them how to post photos on Prime? Now if the car was selling for a price that was competitive and looking to sell he might get some interest over the next YEAR but I doubt it. I also don't like this quote because he acts as if most people didn't pay cash for their car and he is unique in some way. Still, people will finance cars. This ad screams "DON't CALL ME, I DON'T WANT TO SELL MY CAR!"

Firsties! Shoot, I thought you were busy all week too Bryan. So put some commentary on your post at least.

The guy said he doesn't know how to post photos on Prime. He also stated he would post photos if someone would help him. I wasn't offended. I am also of the opinion that he is not interested in dealing with tire kickers and that he is pretty firm with the price.

Maybe someone will call him and walk him through posting photos.

He is probably a nice guy. This is just an example of a bad "For Sale" ad. This isn't against the person. He probably isn't that serious about selling the car.

Judging on what this guy says in his ad he sounds a little "old school" Geez, I'm 30 and had a hard time posting pics on this site.

Im sure he's just a guy who doesnt want tire kickers or people wasting his time via Pm's. Pm's can get very frustrating. Im sure there is a reason this guy is choosing to sell his car this way.

For a bad ad, it's getting some good publicity. Everytime someone posts on this thread, the ad is getting an early bump. Not a bad loophole in the rules.

His ad doesn't seem so bad. It sounds like a very nice NSX and he is interested in hearing from serious buyers. Nothing wrong with that. If I were looking for an NSX like his, I'd call him for sure.

I've meet Howard in person serveral times.

Howard is a bit older than the average NSX owner. 60+ yrs young. This could help to explain his lack of computer skills and being computer challeged.

If you give him a call during his scheduled time, he will take the time to talk you about the car.

That makes no sense to me at all. You could have easily passed up a sweet deal because you made an erroneous assumption.

I don't think there is anything wrong with this ad. He covers all the major points: Model, VIN, low mileage, color, price, and contact information. He also adds good details such as he is only the third owner of the car, that he maintains the vehicle, and that as a California car it recently passed smog.

As for his desire to work primarily over the telephone, as seller this is his prerogative. For a big-ticket item such as this, I would also like to speak over the telephone to gauge whether the buyer is serious. I'm sure the seller would email a potential buyer images, to show the car is as clean as advertised.

I even got a chuckle about being a "non-coffee drinker".

Not every person a car forum nut or computer savy. Sometimes those are the NICEST CARS! If you pass it up it maybe your loss.

Granted pics are nice but again not everyone knows how. My dad is a huge car nut and everything he sells is mINT ~ however he is not great with computers.

I can see why he posted the cash statement. A lot of tire kickers who just dream so he wants to eliminate those losers....

You need to chill and give the guy a break.

I PM'd Howard and gave him my number to call. He did and while the call was long it was rewarding. Interesting fellow- like most Primers. In the end I offered to help him tow a 1954 Ford Carrera PanAmericana racer from a museum in Auburn, In. to Pittsburgh for a vintage event but he worked out an alternate means. He in turn invited my family and myself out to stay at his place in San Diego and attend a big RM Auction coming up in June but unfortunately conflicts arose.

You never know...
