Guys I have no idea how to price it. I bought a after market 320 kph speedometer to replace my 180 mph since I live in Canada. I paid 600 for the after market one. How much should I sell the OEM one?

Not sure what you would sell for maybe half of what u paid?,
but I (possible others) am interested in knowing where and how to get a aftermarket 320kms guages .
As I live in Canada and find the kms hard to keep track of sometimes on the mph guage.
The needle can move pretty fast sometimes under boost and it would be nice to have it on the outside of the guages, and just better in general being proper to our system here kms.
Any advice in the right direction would be appreciated.
TIA

I got it from Detlef fro Procar specials. I've looked at this problem extensively. You have 3 options, buy the whole cluster from Japan, OEM from the factory, or from Procar Specials. If I had to do it again I would buy it from FDnewbie. He can get it from japan. It's going to be about 800. The goodthing is you get the whole cluster. If you buy it from Procar, you just get the speedo and then you have to adjust it. Plus the aftermarket speedo color is brighter then OEM so it doesn't totally look stock. I personally like the stock look. I'll take some pictures and show you today.

Sweet, thanx for the info, I been doing alot of research too, and u basically have the options right, I do not want a type R as its only 180kms max, and alot more than 800 too I believe.
The whole unit for 800 will work if its close to original, the pics will help alot as I never seen a aftermarket pic yet.
U mentioned u would get it from FDnewbie? is this a member of prime? not sure, who or where.
Do u have a contact address or website at all for me to view, I believe I heard of and was on procars website but did not get enough info from it.
I will wait for the pics, but I believe this is what I am lookin for.I am not sure I would want to adjust it either so the FDnewbie sounds like the ticket, as per your recommendations.

Also if u only changed the guage (speedo) itself that means the odometer is still on mph correct? but If I was to change the whole unit it would all be in kms right?

Thanks for the help Macready :)

Here are the pics. I forgot GT1USA has one too but they are backordered. It was the cheapest, $395. FDnewbie is the id on prime. If you search for him he can send you pics and prices of what he can get. He basicly helps you get it from yahoo japan. I hear he's good. He was helpful when I was talking to him.

Thanx for the pic update, is that a shiftlight I see on the guage?
I would like to get a OEM one but could be a long wait.
The original in mph really does not bother me alot, just preference I believe.
I do not see any info or pics on the Gtone website or anywhere on any sites for that matter.
How did u get pics and see what u were buying?

GT1USA took it off. I was there before. I guess they couldn't get it so they took it off. The mph was really bothering me to so I bite the bullet and just bought it. That light just the seatbelt light.

Any of you guys ever thought of purchasing an OEM speedo face plate and simply having a speedometer shop recalibrate it to match the new face? Not sure if this is even possible, just an idea....

Tim

I did look into that but they, the dealers, won't sell the faceplate by itself. You have to buy the whole cluster as a unit.

you can buy just the speedo unit from the dealer, if they told you that you have to buy the whole cluster , they were prob. being lazy(didn't want to bother looking it up) or just wanted to rip you ,it is sold as a set w/ the trip meter, but it is still expensive - something like 1400 retail!

Actually when the parts guy looked it up he said the same thing you did. 1400 then when he went to try order it he said he had to order the rest because he could the sell the other part by itself.

IF you guys are interested!

I'll talk to the Pres of the NSX Club Japan - they have awesome contacts - and see if we can do a group buy - post if you're "in" at what Max price

Wow that defi hud is cool. I wish I would have known earlier. That would have been a choice. Half my interior is aftermarket anyways, mind us go all the way.
