How fragile are our dashes?

I thought it more appropriate to start a new thread rather then post a reply in the dash pad thread, but that got me thinking.

How fragile is the interior and dash of an NSX? I'm coming from owning a Porsche 928 where I’m sure the interior was made in Transylvania and like Dracula is destroyed by the sun.

I've been told it's the type of plastics and leather that they used that just didn't hold up. On the other hand, I’ve seen Toyotas and Hondas resting in junk yards for 20 years with perfect dashes. My old Chevy beater which sat outside rain n shine for all of its 15 year life had a perfect dash with not one crack.

How does the NSX hold up? I hope at least as good as a Civic or Corolla. I keep Vinylex on the dash and trim but is it really necessary to always use a sun shade? My NSX spends most of its time in the Garage, but I do drive it to work on nice days and it sits in the sun. I am meticulous about keeping it clean and Zaino'd.

Opinions?

I use the reflective sun shade anyway

Not only for "protecting" the dash, but my own hand and but*.. :)

there's at least 20 degrees difference if you use the sun shade correctly... and you can even make it cooler if you can let air out (a little gap on the driver's / passerger's window) Of course, this is not recommend for places that someone could steal your car any second...
