How do you remove the headrests??

Hey all,

Just trying to remove my headrests off my '92 so I can have some custom stitching work done and realized (as with everything else related to this car) that it ain't like my other Hondas :biggrin:

Is there an easy way to remove it? I assumed (incorrectly) that it was just a matter of raising it until it came off, but I discovered they don't rasie at all!

For the headrest to come out, you need to
remove the retainers shown in step 6 here:

I was able to get to the retainers without detaching the
whole seat back (and without doing the preceding steps
that I haven't reproduced here); I got access to the retainers
by just pulling the seat back away a little near the top.

However, putting the retainers back in when you replace the
headrest will be hard if you don't detach the whole seat back.
I just left them out; my headrest stays in place just fine without
the retainers.
