topspeed's infamous unwelded runner pipe that meet up with the collector..it appear that the fella who sold me these headers, lies about them being in good condition with no leak..lied to me about how it still have topspeed warranty but didn't bother to contact the company to take care of it..anyway, excuse my venting, that in itself is another story...
now i just want to know if it's possible to fix this problem w/out it costing me an arm and leg..here are photos:

the gooey, stain looking stuff is the muffler puddy i tried to patch up..didn't hold..my fault for not inspecting the headers thoroughly when i got them in the mail...right now i've used a product call thermal gasket or something like that, got it from advance auto parts store, next to the puddy stuff..the unwelded go 1/2 way around starting from where you see the hole..currently, the thermal gasket puddy stuff is holding..then again i didn't drive it much after the patch since the car is in storage..looking for way to get a permanent fix..muffler shop wont touch it, not enough space for their Tig..

Contact Titanium Dave he might have some ideas on how to do it without pulling it off the car. I am sure it can be fixed but at what cost? If you have to remove them, that's going to be expensive if your don't do it yourself then you will have to pay someone to weld them. These headers sell for $350 or so online...so at what point is it worth it. I suppose you could buy new ones, get these fixed and sell to recoup some money.

i'll pm dave and see if he can suggest anything. ebay have a set for 500 something shipped..my car is a 93, so na1 aftermarket headers are hard to find under 600$..i'm getting the oil pan gasket change out in the spring, so the headers will HAVE to come off. if my mechanic can find a good welding shop, hopefully they can repair it for not so much.

thanks for the input.

Yuck...
the putty gunk made the mess worse...no good ideas except to pull them off, try to clean them enough to get brass to stick to the collectors and braze them back together...

I would say about 2 hours of labor if they were in my shop.

Hope that helps,
Dave

OBX has headers for less,

maybe the supplier has run low on them now, but I know in the past I have seen 91-94 headers for $300 or so, alternatively you could get these and the adapter pipes from SOS.

Hopefully you can fix by pulling them off, sorry to hear of your woes. Why can't the original owner help you out with the warranty or is the warranty not transferable?

^^well, he "offered" to help..said he'll contact the seller but no good..then said he'll email the company but after over a month and no update, i figure he was just telling me what i want to hear..ignore my pm..how long does it take to call topspeed? does it take a person 2wks to get in contact with them? i dont think so..so i gave up..i even contact topspeed themselves and it's no good, they said the original name is no where in their database and since i'm the 2nd owner, they can't do warranty on it..even though these headers still have 2+yrs of warranty on it.. such a headache..i though people on prime are grown up and do what they said they would do..but there are some that can't do that..i DON'T want call out the individual because i don't want to make a scene..but you can understand where i'm coming from..
