How about some new NSX info as of 3/16/14?

Interesting to read that people in the US don't like the front of the car. I like it very much even though I think they didn't show the latest stage of the design yet (why should they? it would be 'outdated' when it arrives on the market). I'm much more concerned about the tail-end of the car where I also (strongly) hope that they didn't show the latest design so far.

Sidenote: did you notice that the LF-A is more than outdated and nobody mentions it here and there?

It's hard to be ahead of time if things chance quickly. In the 90ies the rest was sleeping and product cycles have been very long. Nowadays, even a MP4-12C is outdated after only 3 years. Brave new world! I don't think the new 2.0 will repeat the success of 1.0.

Customizing
I'm pretty sure you get some customizing options in the US. I'm not so sure for the rest of the world. As far a customizing is desirable: you can have a car with no resale-value if you order it in colors or options nobody else would ever order it. There are plenty or McLarens and Porsches out there waiting for a buyer with leather interior colors choosen by people with a 'strange' taste. :) A standard option (a boring black) simplifies things much more. Just my opinion.

I agree with the tail end concerns as I've previously expressed my opinions on that. I would take the NSX as-is but I hope do they refine the tail for a more dramatic effect like the original instead of going for the snub look via side profile like all other cars doing these days.

The LFA is essentially outdated at the point it was produced given many standards, but it still looks good and sounds fantastic. I've read that one fine example has already crossed ?40K miles? That's quite impressive actually for the type of vehicle it is and apparently it's mostly track miles too.
 
Can you post the Goodwood nsx pics you have? Been watching it the past two days looking for a glimpse. Great watching the p1, LA Ferrari, one:1 and 918 do the hill run today.

Why does it have a Honda badge. Even on the wheels. I am certain that is not a mistake. Did this prototype come from Japan? These are Ohio cars. They could have circled with Acura badges, It's gone mad JDM yo! or maybe Honda is now ashamed of Acura. "Oh yeah that division that doesn't sell any cars? Yeah that's.... *cough* ours". LMAO...

They always show the badge of the division that will be selling the car in a particular country. As of right now only USA, Canada and China have the Acura brand. Thus the Honda badge on the NSX in England.
 
The square footage of the US is 3.8 million sq miles.

There was approxiamately 8000 NSX in the US.

3,800,000/8,000 = 475 sq miles /1 NSX.

The ratio needs to be 475:1 or higher if I am going own a NSX2.0.
 
I'm pretty sure the NSX pictured is just the NSX Concept that was at the Tokyo Auto Salon or whatever and not the prototype that will be running at Goodwood.

Rob, I meant that the one in the pictures (which is at Goodwood) is the NSX Concept that has been making the show circuit (which I think was last displayed at TAS).

And that they wouldn't have the prototype that is going to run at Goodwood on display prior to it running (remember the blue prototype at Mid-Ohio?)

Well, somebody from Honda lied to the motoring press because since around March there have been published articles from the UK and even Australia stating that a second gen NSX would be running up the hill. Does anyone even know if the "prototype" at Goodwood was even a running model? Did they display the engine? If so, how many liters? How many forward gears in the tranny? Geez, this is getting real old. The "new" NSX already looks very dated next to some of the other exotica at the show.

That was the rumor, indeed. Honda evidently had some drivetrain issues re: NSX crash at the Takasu test track and they're not too keen on potentially experiencing those same issues in such a public fashion at Goodwood. Coincidentally, the TLX SH-AWD is delayed. Whether it's drivetrain related is pure speculation. But I have my thoughts...

That was the first thought that crossed my mind when I saw those wheels, carbon wheels and funky design for aerodynamics and brake cooling.
I was just being silly and showing admiration for the extent to which you are going with your NSX.
Although, I'm a little doubtful the Concept wheels will make it to production, unless they're truly designed to be function over form.

I feel like I know more about the apocalypse than the new NSX. Exactly when will it just be too late and nobody will care? They've already lost the Super Bowl commercial interest, nobody outside of prime really talks about it or cares anymore, the publics senses have been overloaded with new Ferraris, Audis, Porsches, Lambos, Astons, Maseratis, Mercedes, McLarens, etc. I'm losing faith in the entire NSX project by the week.

Honda has tortured and tormented their NSX fan base for what appears to be forever. A great majority have moved on. A few diehards are still hanging on, hoping against hope.
I am one of those but I am starting to feel that even if the NSX does make appearance, whenever that is, that for the price, I would rather have a German sports car with name, a real pedigree and prestige that I will know has history of continuous production and better likelihood of staying in production.

I am quite sure that when the NSX does come out, my interest in it will be limited to seeing what Honda has finally produced...but that is all.

Honda has failed its loyal followers....at least most of them.
 
This was similar to the new Lotus Esprit tease that went on and on ...... and collapsed.
