SUPER GT Series <GT500 class>
The GT500 new regulations being introduced this season have led to a total overhaul of the machine and engine. Honda will now compete with the NSX CONCEPT-GT, a machine based on the NSX Concept—its next-generation supersports model. The new chassis developed exclusively for racing will be equipped with the HR-414E, a newly developed midship 2.0L inline 4-cylinder direct injection turbo engine, and also feature a racing hybrid system. Aiming to recapture the dual titles of drivers’ and team championships, five teams will race five of these machines for Honda again this season. The machine is being developed again this year under the auspices of the Honda GT Project by the Automobile R&D Center of Honda R&D Co., Ltd., in cooperation with M-TEC Co., Ltd.
