Honda HSV-010 GT

Re: Honda HSV-10 New Photo

I like it. Hope Honda will come through on this one.

Re: Honda HSV-10 New Photo

Anyone see the new Road & Track? It has a sick rendition of what the NSX might look like.

Re: Honda HSV-10 New Photo

Been meaning to write in about that artical. Good one - NSX is not dead! So to all the nay sayers we just might get a reprive on total extinction. I would be we do. The artical sure was promising. I think the car looks awesome but I bet it will be super expensive.

Interesting that the racing version is going V8 (reasons were noted) but wonder why they are going V10 for the street car - that may change I have a feeling. However, good thing is that is looks like eventually we will see another Honda super sports car. There was another artical about Honda as well about some of their personal mobility devices. Honda is a cool company - there is more to it than any of the other manufacturers in Japan. The only thing that bugs me is the fact they seem to be going away from mid engine - I would bet that is for economy. They never made much off the NSX and this time I bet they are trying to improve on that while still delivering a super sports car! We'll see.

Re: Honda HSV-10 New Photo

Overtones of the current NSX ...

Form the photos in the above post its possible to see not just the front bumper / headlight association, but also the components at the front end that confirm this would be a focussed drivers car. Firstly the low hood line for and low front screen offering great visibility. Then theres the forming of the front fenders over thecentre line of the front wheels. A key design of the original, clearly seen on the new and unashamedely copied by Maclaren on the so sexy new MP4. At the rear you can see the full width 'lighting'.

Many people are hung up on this being a 'rear' mid engined car. But whats wrong with it being a 'front' mid engined car? Mazda have been doing this with the RX7 since the early 90's. If Honda pulls it off with the new sportscar, adds in a torquey V8T with sequential 6 speed and SH-AWD, I am willing to bet that the average driver will be quicker and safer from A to B in this new car than the original.

regards, Paul

Good points all Paul. What do you think this monster will cost??? I'm afraid to think I'll have to morgage my house to get one. But if it costs anything like that crazy priced LF-A I guess I'm out. I hope Honda doesn't blow all us NSX followers out of the saddle.

Setting aside arguments regarding weight distribution, collision safety, and even driver feel, from a purely aesthetic design perspective I personally prefer the look a mid-engined car. Short snout, pronounced and beefy rear... I love it. Call me a product of 80s & 90s design brainwashing but the mid engine design screams supercar to me.

Now the RX-7 FDs are absolutely beautiful cars. I've still got my eye out for a FD R1 in White 5spd since I love that car so much... but they're both apples and oranges to me.

Re: Honda HSV-10 New Photo

We'll have to scan it from the magazine. You should just go to your favorite book store and check it out. It really doesn't look much different than the photos here.

Re: Honda HSV-10 New Photo

Ok, I know this sucks, but I took a pic of the magazine with my digi camera. The cf doesn't really show up....

Re: Honda HSV-10 New Photo

wow.. you guys weren't kidding. that looks promising. can't tell if it's front heavy (i.e. front engined) but i'll take a peep next time i'm at the supermarket.

looks like an evolution of the existing design not a revolution!

I've seen this design before, 17 years ago...

Then Nissan copied the supra lines in the very commercially successful 350Z

Now Honda in 2010?

I mean look at all these other JJGTC cars that look "different" yet can still perform at the top level.

C'mon Honda, give us something original, not a recycled supra for 8x the price.

Dude every car you just posted as different all have something in common......theyre all mid-engined. They dont allow MR cars anymore so the new super-gt cars will look similar being that theyre all FR. You cant look at super-gt cars and compare because they all have to follow strict guidlines to level the playing field hence why they all look alike. Look at the production version to all these vehicles and theyre like night and day.

Mmmm, why let the facts get in the way of a good bitch??

The other thing ALL those cars have - is they have four wheels!

FR cars that don't look exactly like the Supra/350Z.

under NSX

IT IS AWESOME AND COOL ... but this new car is something between the dead S2000 and dead NSX ...

Re: Honda HSV-10 New Photo

I just LOVE the "new" NSX !!
Reminds me of the other (original) front/mid engined V-10 and what Lexus apparently has also copied; The Viper !
All it needs is a truck block.

;)

Meanwhile I just trudge along in the old turd.
Long live the real NSX.

The silhouettes of "almost" all of those cars are the same... it's like a bulge in the rear and a thinner protrusion for the front of the vehicle. Most common style for a FR layout. Only car you posted that that's an FR that doesn't follow the same silhouette style is the Impreza since that's more of a sedan than a coupe.

Oh wow is this the HSV engine?? Yeah Hondas getting good at showing the US what it can't have.

Getting good? They've been doing it since the beginning! Multiple Type R's, SiR's, turbos, superchargers..etc. Same thing with their other product lines, including motorcycles. We never got the cool stuff.

Looks pretty similar to the previous version that everyone was bitching about last time:biggrin:

You must be smoking crack!

Oh, we're still around... At least this looks a bit better than the last concept (though not as instantly and insanely gorgeous as the HSC) Hehe

Amen! Now where is that SuperGT HSC concept/photoshop picture...

Nail on the head Ryu, nail on the head!

Re: Honda HSV-10 New Photo

Wow, that is fierce looking. I imagine if they toned down the aggressive body work, that would make an excellent NSX replacement!

Wake up Honda, please!!!!

As mean and fierce looking as this HSV looks, which it does indeed, it will never be a true replacement for the NSX. Only a true mid-engined sports car will be able to replace the NSX.

Now if they stick that 3.4L V8 and stuff in the back of a HSC, with some minor tweaking of the body lines, now we're talking....:eek::eek::eek:

Can you PS gurus take the back end of this HSV, the tail lights in particular, and slap it on the HSC?
