Andrie, great video... only watched 2/8 so far. Very inspiring vid. What series or class is that? How does one "get in"? Makes me want to build a civic race car:) Was a nice dog fight with the accord?... until the miata's got in the way:(. Thanks for posting that up.

Congrats, Andrie!

Andrie, I don't konw if I'm inspired or jealous. Perhaps a bit of both. Good job on the Sat. win!

That's actually Andrie's and Jim's Honda Civic with a Type-R engine.

Pretty amazing driving, given that he kicked my friends E36 M3 lightweight's ass in the race. He was the dude that kept trying to prevent Andrie from passing for a while, hehe :D

Some facts about the car:
1992 Civic Si Hatchback
B18C engine (Integra Type R)
Toda Spec B cam, cam gear.
NSX intake box.
Comptech Race header
Hondata engine management
Comptech aluminum flywheel.
Comptech rear bar
Tein RA suspension with custom valve and springs
NSX front brakes.

The car produces a whopping 186 WHP on a dynojet and weigh 2337 lbs with me inside.

The current rule for my class allow modification for the head, but all the bottom end has to stay Honda OEM parts. Usually people port and polish the head and use CTR pistons to raise the compression. Min weight for Hybrids running B18 motors are 2200lbs. So I have quite a bit more mods to do.

My next race at California Speedway the first week of March will probably the toughest. This track favors high HP cars. And at this race, there will be quite a few of cars who has at least 30 WHP than me. The fact that I never been there doesn't help either.

We are sponsored by Comptech, and they play a major role in my winning.

I only watched about 1/3 of it, but did anyone ever pass you?

On Saturday race, no.

On Sunday race, the NSX, and an Accord. I was pulling away from the Accord, until there is a yellow flag, and he closed the gap on me and pass me right after the yellow flag, when I just start to apply the throttle again. I was able to repass the NSX after it broke on the last lap :) and almost made a pass on the Accord.
