Holy mother of God

Does anyone have pictures of the dual tips vs single tips on a 2002+ rearend? I want to see the sizing of the tips in comparison before I sell a kidney.

+1 Dave said they were too tiny and the single was more "macho" ,but I'd also like to see a set since everyone is doing the single tip version.

You guys are hijacking my thread. You should be asking Henry this or try a search you lazy asses.

Here are quads:

I think you know what the single tip looks like. To me the quad tip system's pipes are too small.

Thanks for the pics w/o b*tching. As for the last part I guess you need to compensate for an inadequacy:rolleyes:

i have the v5.1 with the custom single-tip config. They are just a bit more $ than the quad tips, and I went the single tip as I thought the quads were too small as well. imo, the burnt tips probably stand out a bit more on single-tips, but who knows until i see a quad in person next to mine. Either way, its a win-win. the best part imo is all the fabulous piping that can be seen through the 02+ valence

I have done a couple of more clips both from inside and out so you guys get a better idea:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/p5koXVLuc7k"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/p5koXVLuc7k" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

And from inside. You can see the valve controller at the beginning on the console.

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2lMn10m_MnQ"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2lMn10m_MnQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

inside that cabin, "holy mother of God" is freaking right!!!! my gtlw is for sale i think lol

Valve wide open on the track. This thing is surprising quiet on the highway with the valve closed. I really liked having the valve on the 1000 mile round trip to Watkins Glen:

Dang I was hoping to see you mix it up with the GT:mad:

Good stuff bro! I just got a V5.1 w/o valves and I agree very quiet exhaust until you head up towards redline.

Throw some straight pipes on!!

Nice video by the way!!

Always think of it for weight savings but can't stand the exhaust fumes when you go w/o cats.

Dave has the matching headers though and I believe that probably increases his sound volume as well.

Well, its here. Attached are some pics. Quality looks excellent. Welds are awesome. The instructions for the valve control... Japanese. :(

Importing takes some work. Clearing customs, going to the airport for pickup, etc. But all looks like it arrived in good shape. Customs officer asked "you couldn't find an Acura muffler here?"... I said "no".

bro bring your car to the office, i want to see it tomorrow:)

I won't be in the office tomorrow but I will be tuesday and after that :)

Also, Dave where did you get that valve controller? And will it work with my GT Extreme? It has a spot for it that would work with little to no modification... thoughts?

DJ here,
Glad you finally got it up. Those clips are mean, but from inside the car it sounds a lot quieter. That's what my wife likes about them. I have the exact same setup on our red NA1. Wifey doesn't complain and when I bring it home at night it's actually quieter than my RX-7. The valve is worth the extra bucks, especially when jealous neighbors are involved. And being the only foreigner in my condo, I already look like a new breed of Yakuza with all these red cars!

Grats on the system again and we are taking orders....
DJ

DJ, do u think this valve system will work with Ravi's GT-Extreme exhaust? and if so how much?

The GT1 V5.1 is a lesser expensive valve-less version of the 5.0. AFAIK I imported the only valve controlled model into the U.S. The valve is made by Apexi. It works well on the highway, it siginificantly reduces the drone to almost zero. Its a neat gizmo for really loud exhausts like mine.

The original pics got lost but I posted up new ones, go back to like page 2 or 3, there are there including valve pictures.

yea i saw those after I posted thx!

And yea the GT-Extreme has absolutely no drone... it would just be sweet to be able to tone it down as an option! As much as I love the sound...

Corey, glad you are liking the muffler:smile:

Its really DJ, and Yamamotos's GT-Extreme exhaust though, I am just the USA importer.

On the sound of the Gt Extreme, for those who have not experienced it....... its the craziest muffler I have ever heard. You cannot believe the sound is coming from an NSX, its startling to say the least. People say WHAT THE??? and HOW???? and I don't just mean its loud, the pitch and tones it creates are spine tingling. People go cross eyed when they hear it.

You will fall in love with your NSX all over again.

I love it:biggrin:

Us GT-Extreme guys should quit hijacking Dave's thread. We should compile our own collection of vids and start a "Holy mother of god II" thread
