Holy Bat Wing! (a.k.a. Red Rice)

Take the 15S
Exit Tropicana, turn Left,
Turn right onto Paradise Rd.

And take that wing to the airport!

It looks like it could fly!

With you at the wheel!

Internally, you have a beautiful setup; a masterpiece if you will.

Externally, I believe you have lost the entire essence of NSX's beauty.

Its so bad, I took the liberty of submitting your pictures to Pimp My Ride... and to the West Coast!

Go Danny, GO GO GO!

Haha does A/C really make some difference?! :D

A/C is code word for 2-Nitropropane:wink: Armando, very nice pic mod, THANKS!

Heh, that reminds me of the joke: Where does an 800 lbs gorilla sit? Anywhere he damn well pleases.

Lol. I guess once you make 1,000 hp, you can pretty much do what you want.

Go Danny, GO GO GO!

Send that thing to a wind tunnel then we'll talk. Since you're a Warren Buffet fan (myself included), I'm sure there's some logic to what you have said.

IMO, all the exterior mods seems ostensible - to each his/her own I guess.

otoro,

I totally agree with your "purist" view of the original body lines. In fact, I've kept most everything visually stock as the front splitter and rear wing are for track duty only. However, I'm starting to like them a lot and may keep it on for car meets as well. Form closely follows function in everyting I do for this car. If I really wanted to go all out rice, I would have done a wide body kit (for more tires) long ago. Floating at 140 mph is very unsettling. With the current setup, you can already feel some cumulative downforce at 60 mph. I'm sure this wing creates more drag, for whatever amount of downforce it produces (maybe more, maybe less), than the previous airfoil I had on for USCC. Thanks again for your thoughts.

Best Regards,

Danny

If you want to pay for the wind tunnel testing then be our guest. Other than that I know Danny as a person and he is nothing close to what a ricer is. Please refer to the USCC magazine if you need to know more with his NSX on the cover. All of his parts I assume were thought out carefully for what the car is built for. Also he can remove and put everything back when he wants to.

I don't care for big wings but he tracks his car and I am sure that was the wing recommended to him for his purpose or whatever track he plans to run.

Sorry for digging out the old thread.

Doesn't look as good in Danny's pic, but Looks great in Armando's photo chopped... all the sudden it looks like a toy car sitting on a tile...

So Danny, had you already driven it on the track with this set up yet and did your top speed get robbed big time?? (My phase wing robbed 5-10 miles of my top speed...but then I only had 1/3 hp of yours)

Is that a GT300 or GT500 wing? Doesn't APR make one specifically for nsx? It seems like to me that you modify it out of a stock wing as base??

It is the APR GT500 wing. I made my own stantions because the standard APR stantions are toed-out. The base is from the OEM wing. As for top speed, I'm gear limited at 170-ish anyway. Working on a non-car related project right now, but will be getting back into it, including track testing the wing, in the fall.

Regards,

Danny

Apparently I have the last of this wing that I will be installing in the next couple of weeks.

I've had one on the FD and am a big believer that it works from just 80MPH, which most of you have seen.

The curvature of the wing in the center is suppose to reduce drag while maintaining the downforce.

Pics coming soon.
