Well, we installed the HID lights. It was not a lot of fun. We had a hell of a time getting the weather caps back on.

The kit was pretty easy apart from that.

Here are some shots of in progress, before and after.

The kit is from cartoka and these are the 6000K. It was $320 shipped.

Wow, those things look aat least 10X brighter. What is cartoka, and is their address cartoka.com? I might get a set.

Looks great!

Do you need to adjust the headlight after installed the HID? I found out my passenger side headlight is a litter higher then the driver's side? Not sure if this is normal with after market HID?

I am not sure how to adjust them... anyone know?

They seem pretty great to me.. I am in love :)

Now I just have to do the parking lights.. What are you all using for the parking lights to get a close match?

Well, my car is lower about 1 inch and the headlight is too low for me. Maybe that's the problem....

I am still using the OEM parking lights, but I will order the Raybrig bulbs from SOS. Anyone have experience with them?

When you install the lamps, if you don't remove the entire assembly itself, it's quite easy to have moved it slightly - that's not related to the HID install. If one light is higher than the other, there is a screw in the headlamp that allows you to tune the pitch; I, however, have had no luck with it - if you remove the cover and look at the headlamp housing, you'll notice that the bolts it mounts up with actually have some play. Using that play, you can raise or lower the angle significantly - I actually raised both projectors when I did my HID conversion about a year ago, raised the cutoffs around 1 inch from the stock location (on a wall 6 feet from the bumper).

For pictures 2 & 3 did you keep the shutter speed & aperture values constant or just shoot in auto mode? Also were the white balance settings the same as well? I'm just wondering because it would be a bit difficult to compare actual increase without... I don't mean to criticize, I'm just a bit curious.

If you buy the blue parking lights it is a pretty close match. They don't shine thru blue its more of an HID color. I bought mine from the local parts store for $5.00

I'm using them (Raybrig Wedge bulbs) from SOS (along with the SOS HID kit. The colour is extremely similar. They look the same colour to a casual observer. I'm quite pleased with the result.

Just an FYI... not to step on anyone's toes, but you folks may want to consider a 4100K Philips kit. There appears to be quite a difference in usable light output. I do know from experience that not all HID kits are created equal.

Mike.. there is plenty of light. Night and Day difference.
The pictures don't really do it justice.

Also, someone mentioned how I took the pics. It was on auto with the flash off. No long exposure or anything.

Great to hear your happy with it. I think the NSX is an excellent candidate for HID conversion. It may be du to the excellent and large projector design of the low beams. In any case. I would not want to go back to halogen bulbs.

FYI, I installed a 7000k HID kit and the color looks like the Audi xenon's! My friend works on Audi's and when he saw them, he said they look 100% identical! The visability has improve a lot! The street signs glow! :D
I likes, I likes a lot!

Nsxtasy had an explanation before in another thread about this (so you know it had to be true!). He said that it was designed for the driver's side head lamp to be a tad lower than the passenger's side. This is to prevent glare upon the oncoming traffic.

Mike, I've heard the same thing (from the other Mike) about that particular HID Kit you are running. I can't wait to see it locally here. I'll let you know how it compares to the SoS 7000K HID Kit.

Netviper...glad to see you got your kit installed. I only had one weather cap give me a hard time (the second one) the first one went on fairly easily.

For you guys looking at the kits, I too got my from Albert at cartoka.com and have been very happy with the kit.

He offers both 8000K and 6000K, I got the 6000K for the more usable light and more white/purple color vs the blue of the 8000k.
