My name is Bill - I've been around awhile (pretty quiet for the most part) - in fact some of you may remember my last NSX (Lambo Pearl Metallic Yellow with lots of CF - Richard & Curtis Boodoo's handiwork for the most part) which I sold a couple of years ago when I decided to see what it would be like to completely wreck my lower back . To make a long story short, I'm pleased to be able to say I'm as good as new (well, almost LOL), and pickin' up my next NSX this coming weekend. It's an unmolested black/black, 2 owner 92 with 30k pampered miles - for the past 10 years it's belonged to an owner who's as much of a nutcase about his cars as I am. Weather permitting, I'm flyin' up to Kansas City on Friday and drivin' her back

My last car spent way too much time in the garage so I never really had a chance to become an active member of the NSX community - I'm plannin' on drivin' this one so I'm hopin' to get more involved with the rest of the Florida NSX owners this time around (if you'll have me ). I look forward to meetin' all of you as opportunity allows.

Here's a few shots of the car as it sits now - I have some pretty specific ideas as to what I wanna do to it (been thinkin' about it for two years), so it won't look like this for very long if I have it my way

I'm probably gonna take a bunch of crap for it, but yes - it's an automatic (Me? Defensive? No way!) Had a manual, figured I'd see what life with an auto NSX was like. I was really resistant to the idea at first, but then I found this car and it was exactly what I was looking for but in an automatic. So I got to thinkin' - 500 HP AMG Mercedes have automatics. Porsches come in automatic. So do Ferraris. Lots of really cool cars have automatics. There must be a reason. Once I got my mind around it, I kinda like the idea of being able to relax and have a cup of coffee or eat a burger (carefully) while I'm drivin'. Now I'm actually kinda excited about it. Go figure. Maybe that's why those other high line cars come in automatics. So you can look cool while you're drinkin' your coffee or eatin' your burger.

Who knows. Maybe I'm just gettin old

Lookin' forward to knowin' you guys...

looks good, welcome back.

and what kinda rims are those on the car? I like them.

Car looks awesome. Interior is pristine. I just bought my first NSX 4 months ago and LOVE it. Don't worry about auto / manual. Do what makes you happy. I have an auto TSX when I want to chill. I went the other way and bought the NSX to enjoy the manual. It's nice to have choices! Catch you in central FL sometime. Enjoy!

we can tell you use to be a Stick guy

in one of your pics the e-brake is up. auto you dont need to do that. its out of habit. I do it in my auto TL my GF says why do you pull the e-brake up after you park Im like uhhhhh its a habit.

If your last NSX is the picture you used as your avatar man Ive seen that car up for sale sooooo many times. Are you looking to go all out like you did with that car?

Hi guys

In order:

LDominicano - Thanks. And thanks
shawn110975 - Thanks. They're 17/18 BBS RGRs. It seems they're fairly rare on NSXs. I like 'em too, but they'll probably be for sale before too long as I have something else in mind
Acuman -Thanks. First owner kept it perfect, and the second owner (guy I got it from) is a madman too when it comes to his cars - car looks brand new - engine's spotless and the interior looks like it's never been sat in. And congrats on your first NSX - something I noticed about my last NSX is that the "honeymoon phase" lasts a lot longer than with any other car I've ever owned - I dug it as much on the day I sold it as I did on the day I bought it - maybe even more LOL. But be forewarned - they're addicting. This is the first time in my entire life I've ever bought a car I'd already had one of once before. I've never missed a car before - I missed my NSX. There's simply nothing else quite like it. It'll be interesting to do the auto thing - my last one was a garage queen so I'm planning on using this as a driver (although candidly I don't really drive all that much as my office is attached to my home so there's no commute. Well - 25 feet in flip flops if you call that a commute LOL) so I thought the auto would work well for what I'm gonna use it for. I'll be doing mostly all cosmetic/aesthetic stuff to this one and leave the running gear stock. At least that's the plan anyway. I actually had the thought that maybe down the road a little bit if it seems like a good idea I might get a manual to go with it and make that one a bit more beastly. Dunno. It's a really good thought though :biggrin:
shawn110975 - Great observation LOL. I've found the best use for an ebrake in any car is settin' up for driftin' through a long turn. Well, maybe not in an NSX LOL :wink:

Here's another shot of the car I like:

That was my last one. I bought it very much like you see it from the guy(s) who "built" it - I can't really take too much credit for that one. Apparently it's had numerous owners since I sold it, but it's only got a couple of thousand additional miles on it. In fact it's for sale now up in Ohio (I think it's Ohio). Ridiculously cheap too considering how many quality mods it's got.

Are you looking to go all out like you did with that car?

In a word, no. Going in a whole different direction. That car was kinda "in your face" which was actually a big part of the fun of owning it - drew a crowd everywhere I went. But I've had a vision in my head for a black car for a long time now, so I'm gonna make the vision a reality. Gonna be a bit more, shall we say, subdued. If it looks as good in the world as it does in my head, I'm gonna be a happy boy

Sounds good. I like your new NSX pretty much the way it is. Just maybe a couple small upgrades and that car is 100% prefect. I wish you luck. So I guess the question comes to mind what are you looking to maybe do with this car?(mod wise)

I'm gonna start with stance, wheels and tires, an exhaust, 02+ OEM side skirts and either an 02+ Downforce rear valence or a diffuser, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I'm planning some interior mods as well - probably a steering wheel, some changes to the gauge pod and the console, maybe a nav pod, and maybe some slight changes to the upholstery (I'm fond of alcantra). I have a few other things in mind but I'm gonna keep 'em to myself for now as I haven't seen them done on any other NSXs yet - we'll see if I still think they're a good idea as the process unfolds

Welcome home. ;) Please shoot me a pm when you get ready to sell those BBSs. Also if you find a shop that does nice things with alcantra there in central florida let me know.

also your secret mods,

most of us modders are working on stuff as we speak. so you think you got a never before seen on an NSX idea,

errrrr nope I bet you we got it topped. its coming is all I can say

I love your new avitar, 2 chicks humping

I love it.

Oh dear. And here I thought the blonde was just tired and the brunette was singing her a lullabye. I thought "How nice..."

Gotta admit - it's pretty tough to have an original thought around here. But I'm gonna give it a shot

Thanks much

Since you asked, I'll PM you before I put 'em on the board. Seems only fair

Last but not least, I'd be happy to do that. I've been told about a shop that's less than an hour from me and I've seen an example of their work - I'm gonna go check them out when I get to the interior and see if I'm impressed enough to let them be involved with my little project. If so, I'll pass the info onto you...

Had a great drive back from Missouri to FL. If you haven't already done so, I would highly recommend you go for a 1200 mile drive in an NSX given the chance

I'll go into more detail in another post when I have the time to do it right. In the meantime, here's some fresh shots of the car - lowering it made all the difference in the world. Had RevLine Motors up in Kansas City MO do the timing belt/tensioner and the water pump before I picked up the car. Also had 'em change all the fluids, serviced the trans, do a valve adjusment, and install a set of H&R springs and align it while they had it there. Very conscientious guy - did an excellent job across the board. And their pricing seemed quite good. If you're in that part of the country and lookin' for a good tech you might give them a call.

First thing I did when I got here was wash it. I mean, what else would I do?

Hiya Bill the CaptainOverkill and welcome back to NSX'dom.

Palm trees, beautiful home ~ garage and love that driveway (!), plus "2 chicks humping" (per Shawn), NSX's, working out of your home allowing for multiple day and night instances of garage NSX admiration, and mind-map-of-mods to follow!

Get any better than that? Nope.

I enjoyed your post(s).

I work from home so I'm here pretty much all day every day so you're welcome to come up whenever you'd like - I'm only about 50 minutes up the turnpike from you. I'm actually a bit south of Ocala probably 10-15 minutes off the turnpike so it's easy to get here. Shoot me a PM with a phone number and we'll coordinate it. In the meantime look at the pictures above, or shoot me your email address and I'll send you larger high resolution pictures so you can get a better idea of what to expect.

That's hysterical - Michael (the guy I bought the car from) did the exact same thing - had 'em in his garage for more than 2 years and couldn't bring himself to put 'em on the car. He told me (and I believed him) that when he went to pick it up after they were installed and saw what it looked like sittin' "right", he nearly called me up to tell me he was gonna send my money back LOL. It really does make a truly surprising (I might even use the word astounding) amount of difference in the car's "presence". It just looks like it belongs that way. At least to my eye. It rides and handles great, and I had no rubbing issues whatsoever on the 1200 mile drive home. It will rub on the inside if you turn the wheels hard going into a driveway with an incline, but that's it - I'm not happy about it (I like to do things "right"), but I can live with it. It's minor, and in reality how often do you have your wheels turned nearly to full lock? I'll predict that once you see what the H&Rs will do for your car, you'll go right home and schedule an appointment to have yours installed

Thank you very much. I'm rather fond of the avatar chickies myself LOL

PM Will be incoming shortly  and im all about a good drop my problem is im being "responsible" cause with my setup up im probly risking rubbin if not damaging the fenders  (18/19 with spacers) ...but seeing exactly what drop the springs provide would be awesome.

We'll talk, thanks for the time and attention good sir...x

Hiya Bill the CaptainOverkill and welcome back to NSX'dom.

Thank you very much kind sir. I'll risk making a grotesque understatement and simply say "It's really good to be back"

I feel truly blessed my friend. I'm grateful for every minute of every day. Having said that, you'd think I was completely insane if you knew what that stupid driveway cost me - I have nearly 6000 square feet of driveway LOL. Even I thought I was insane

And you have no idea how accurate your assessment is - I wandered out to the garage all throughout the day yesterday and today while I'm on the phone with my clients or my guys and stare at the car. Drink it in with my eyes is probably a better description LOL. And I don't expect that to end anytime soon - I'm so flippin' excited to have an NSX parked in my garage again I can't see straight. Lookin' forward to realizing my "vision" for the car in the coming months - I've wanted to do this literally for years so I'm having to discipline myself to take my time and really think through each step. I wanna make sure everything I do is an improvement, not just a change. The car deserves that.

I enjoyed your post(s).

Tankyaberrymuch for the kind words
I'll do my darndest to continue to provide some enjoyment here as the latest old new member of the community

I bought mine from Kansas City, too! Where in Central FL are you? If you see another Berlina in the Orlando/Ocoee/Winter Garden area, it's probably me.

I'm just going to go with the idea that we're geniuses for looking in that part of the country cause their weather sucks so badly (compared to ours anyway) they can only drive the cars 6 months out of the year - it's reasonable then to assume that really clean low mile cars are simply more abundant there LOL

I'm about 45 minutes west of you just south of Ocala. I'll keep an eye out for you. Do the same for me

You goin' to Sanford this Saturday?
