Hi guys
i've made my decision to buy a NSX 91-93 , now the search start

only problem is that even though I'm in love with the car i've never sat inside one, i'll be using it as my DD and i dont know how it feel to drive it, I dont know anybody with a NSX and dont think that htere is car rental that has this type of car

what do you suggest

Post in the Florida section below to get a ride down there. There are several Miami owners who should be able to help or may have a get together coming up soon. I bought my NSX in Miami 5 yrs ago and moved it a few miles North. Let my know if you get up this way.

Just signing on, but I wouldn't mind helping out. I'm in Coral Gables area. Let us know.

Certainly drive one before you to buy one as a DD!!!

Hmm, not sure. I just moved back (was away for a while). I know that the benefit for Toys for Tots was 12/13. But you can check the Florida forum to find the upcoming events. I just looked myself, and I see there is something coming up Feb. 6-7th: Cars for the Cure, which is an awesome cause. I'm not sure how far it is from Miami. But seems like several members will be there. :)

Agree. It's not for everyone. But I have had two NSX's, both my DD's. This car is a rare breed. Although a sports car, the build and reliability is par none. And, to me, is the main reason for purchase. It looks sleek, performs unbelievably, but adds the dependability of any car I've ever owned. To me, this is a classic in coming. You can't lose.

I'm up in Broward, if you want to come up this way I'll take you out for a spin. As I'm sure everyone else will tell you, once you drive one, you'll be hooked.

Best of luck

Danny

Hi Mermi, Family's going awesome, thanks!

I used my NSX as a daily driver the first 2 years. It works great as a DD, you just have to be very careful about where you park it and steep driveways, etc. I stopped the DD, cause I was putting too many miles and wear-n-tear on her.

well it'll be my dd for about a year and then it'll be the weekend toy,LOL

but my concern is, after 2 or 3 years of ownership are you guys still in love with the car?

i'm 30 years old and i've had over 40 cars since i was 16, good ones( lexus, mercedes, honda accord, armada, maxima, infiniti, acura) and bad ones (pontiac, escort,,oldmobile) so the thing is that i get bored with my cars pretty fast and I'm looking for a minimum 5 years ownership car, what you think?

Since you have owned so many cars you'll have a good basis for comparison once you drive one...You need to drive one and I think you'll be able to answer that question. I've owned a lot of cars too, sold my first NSX and moved on to a host of other cars and hated all of them after owning a NSX, so I went back and got another one.

I'm selling my current car and a might be closing the deal next week, so i'm looking for cars near Florida to go and check them out next weekend but wanted to talk to someone that already has one and its not looking to sale it to give my his opinion and perspective, does that make any sense?

I have an almost bone stock '93 with about 65K miles on it sitting in my garage. It's not even broken in yet. I picked it up a couple of months ago on a whim. I had Dwight Brady at Hondatech give it a full PPI before handing over my credit card.

My other NSX, Charlotte is also a '93 that I bought 5 years ago with 70,000 miles on it. She is my daily driver and now is about to hit the 230,000 mile mark.

1993 was definitely the best year for the car. The third year is always the charm for any vehicle since the early bugs take that long to work out. Anything after 1994 is not a real NSX since they added that ridiculous targa top making the car untrue to the original design.

In any case my plans for the second NSX are a full JGTC/Super GT widebody race car replica conversion with an SoS big bore - Lovefab turbo powerplant.

However, I was just presented with an opportunity to purchase a Ford GT for a stupid price. (Thank you Bernie Madoff) So I now I'm in a quandry about what to do. Do I sell the second NSX and get the Ford GT or do I go ahead and turn the NSX into a fire breathing beast from hell?

I'm in the Palm Beach area but I do visit Miami once and awhile. (Smith & Wollensky has a strong gravitational pull). I'd be happy to give you a ride in Charlotte next time I'm down there.

Thanks Hugh,

I'm pretty sure i will love the car because its a car that has personality and history, I was thinking in a 04 sl500 mercedes but i see those everyday and the NSX its a rare sight.

I am a total NSX FANBOY, i used to go to the Prime South Florida meetings since 03 ... on my Prelude, then on the S2k, then finally 3 months ago i have my 97, I have worked SOOO hard to get the car, and after getting it EVERY WEEKEND I am doing something, --although I wish i could DD it I think still it's OK to drive a beater from Monday to Thursday then take it to work on fridays/weekends, today-- As I was saying today I have just finished installing my Coilovers and my Shark Antenna (i have like 25 cuts and bruises) this car it's Amazingly rewarding and FUN to drive ... you will not make a mistake and you'll never regret getting into the NSX, DO IT!

Something else, so far, ALL prime members from South Florida are fantastic with me ...

BTW, WHEN WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A SOUTH FL. NSX MEET?? :D

Cheers!
Oscar

I originally bought mine as a dd, but that lasted about six months. I have since used an older Infiniti and BMW for daily drivers.
The NSX is reliable, but is expensive to maintain (properly) imo.

umm correction?? Isn't it a 95 and on?
