Hey there everyone. My name is Brian and I live in SF and am acquiring an NA1 later on this month that I am purchasing out-of-state. I just wanted to make this thread to say hi and introduce myself to you guys. I am actually pretty well-known in the S2000 community and am an avid member of the international forum, s2ki (which I think a few of you are members of as well.) I've always wanted an NSX ever since seeing a few going around Laguna Seca during a track day (when I was in middle school) and I never thought I would have the privilege to ever own such a fine piece of machinery. Well anyway, I am hoping to take delivery of my NA1 sometime during the end of this month, if not early February and I cannot wait to assimilate myself to the NSX community. Here are a few pictures of my S2000

by the way, I know that I need to have the car smogged in order to register it in CA, so I was actually wondering if anyone could offer me a hand and lend me an OEM NA1 intake and exhaust system so that I could have the car smogged and registered. I know that you guys don't know me, but I have plenty of people that could vouch for me. Rick (S4Play) is a buddy of mine as well and I have a very good reputation on the s2000 forums. I wouldn't mind paying a deposit on both pieces too. Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you guys. Oh, and happy new years everyone!

thanks for the warm welcome fellas  I hope my NA1 will be here (and registered) by then, but if not, I'd love to meet some of you and drive the S2K there... assuming that's alright with everyone. :X

As Chuck replied above, whether you have your NSX or not, come on down to the meet on January 23rd. There are several NSX owners who have owned or still own their S2000 that you might know.

Hey Brian, great to see you here! Haven't seen you since the old S2000 days...

Well, after many months of waiting, I've finally received my NA1! I had to battle with the shipping company for several months because they kept giving me excuses as to why they couldn't take the car and put it on their truck to ship it out here, but I finally was able to get it sent out and I took delivery just a few days ago. Anyway, the NSX that I purchased was from a friend of mine, but it is definitely a project car.. it needs a ton of work, but I'm sure that with some sweat and determination, I'll have the car up and running within the next couple of months *crossing fingers!*

First up, the car has a blown clutch.. My buddy gave me a used set of OEM disks to install, but I might just opt for an aftermarket set.. So if anyone local has a clutch package for sale, let me know! Since the motor and tranny will be dropped in order to install the clutch, I need to double check all of the wiring and engine peripherals. The car ran fine before, but my friend's mechanic took things apart for inspection and whatnot and it kind of looks like he just stopped half way through the inspection and may have potentially left things unplugged.

Most of the work that needs to be done is focused on the interior, as it is missing a bunch of panels and a lot of the miscellaneous pieces are missing (knobs, climate control dials, etc. etc.). I am debating if I should go ahead and piece the interior back together, as well as reupholster the interior in suede with red stitching.... or should I just opt for stripping the interior down and throwing some seats and harnesses in. Either way, the interior is in definite need of renewal.

Lastly, the car needs an exterior makeover. The front bumper and fenders are damaged and cracking (fiberglass) so that will need to be replaced. I am looking to do an NA2 front end conversion, but with wide front fenders. I guess we will see what happens later on down the road as the car, hopefully, approaches completion. :) I already have a set of wheels for the nsx, a set of custom finished BBS LMs

So here are some quick pics of the car as it sits right now. I have already begun working on the car slowly, but I hope to make some good friends in the nsx community and learn as much as I can here.

looks great Brian! based on the texas reg tags and wheels, was this Alex's car? Once you're done with it, it will definately have come a long way from it's original state..

I've had my eye on this car from the orginal eBay auction. Can't wait to see it done! Goodluck!

Hey Brian,

Glad the NSX finally arrived. In addition to perusing the "NSX Parts for Sale" section, I suggest you post in the "NSX Parts Wanted" section on NSXPrime for the parts you are looking for. A friend of mine received several replies when he was looking for an extra set of side view mirrors.

hey Tin, you are correct! I decided to purchase the car off of Alex and finish off the project. I've seen a few pictures of the car before Alex took delivery of the car. He told me that it actually came from California. Hopefully I'll be able to get started on the car soon! So far, I've only cleaned some of it out and organized a couple of the spare parts that Alex threw in the trunk. :)

thanks Mike! I'll definitely look into posting in the Parts Wanted section. I am going to make a list of what pieces I need and in what priority that I need them and I'll throw them up and see what happens.

ooOOoooo... matching

I actually have a "used" exedy kit I would let go for really cheap. I installed it thought it was defective and replaced it with another kit only to realize it was a bad masster and slave which the installer failed to mention when installing the first kit. I am in fremont and have plenty of time to get together if you would like to see it :)

that sucks, haha. I'm actually speaking with one of the representatives of Spec Clutches to see if I can get a hookup on a kit. How much do you want for the exedy setup? :)

Do you know about Don at Hilltop Auto? He is our Bay Area go-to-guy for most NSX service.

Welcome.

thanks for the info! I'll definitely have to swing by and see how much it will cost to do the clutch swap and maybe some other little tid-bits that I want done to the car. :D
