that thing is amazing, doesnt hold top speed anymore though, porsche 9ff and konisegg ccr beat it

That is true, however, none of those cars are naturally aspirated. I bet you could throw a couple of turbos on the F1 and smoke them all.

Thats not true!
The Bugatti holds the new record at 400KL, and the 9ff is NOT a production car.

nice though

Being a Mustang guy at heart, I'd pick the Saleen too...

IMO not much prettier than the 87-93 Saleen 'Stang... that may change when I pick up my X!!!

That Konigsegg is one hot ride too!

All of those are nice....but I would still buy the McLaren F1 just because I really like the engineering concepts they used with the car, and the overall uniqueness of it.

I would still take the F1 over any car on the planet today. The S7 is awesome, but to me it is no Mclaren.

The F1 is still my top choice, as well. The S7 is a big V8 with twin turbos. Wow, you mean that's fast? The CCR, too, blown.

The F1 had the top speed record at 240 with "only" 612hp or whatever. It's like the NSX, it does a lot more with the numbers than you'd expect. The F1 is a better looking car, by far, than the Veyron or S7. The CCR is pretty hot, but the F1 is a true shiznit car. Remember, this is a car that swept Le Mans.

The only other car I'd consider if I had that type of loot would be the 962CR from Porsche. I think they made 14 of them. 962 chassis and body (mostly) with the IMSA-spec engine. 0-60 in 3.4 and top speed of "however fast you really wanna go."

The F1 is the car that all these other supercars, including the Enzo, are aiming for. Yet, even with 10 years, some fairly large budgets, they can barely exceed even the F1's top speed. The CCR has, what 800+ hp? Yet it crawls .2mph faster? The Veyron has 1000hp and isn't much higher in top speed? The Enzo's got more power yet is WAY WAY slower - and this is a Ferrari, who have been dominating F1 like Honda used to.

The F1 for the 90s is kind of like the 959 was for the 80s, the ultimate car. Just a rolling technological showcase, an epoch car. These rides put up numbers that stand the test of time, despite apparently inferior engine ratings. The NSX was that type of vehicle, albeit in the more "mere mortal" car echelon.

Enzo F60 is my top choice, McLaren F1 is a very close second because I think the handling and ground effects on the Enzo would make it faster on the track than an F1. At least with me driving them.

Although I could have both my kids in the car with me if I had an F1.

Carguy, have you ever considered getting an Enzo? I think you would have an easier time buying an Enzo than a McLaren F1. You've already said that if you could find the right McLaren F1 you would buy it, so obviously you are serious and have the money. I'm sure you've considered it, but just wondering what made you not buy one yet or ever.

The Enzo doesn't impress me at all, I don't really care for the looks and the Carrera GT is a much better car for me. I know of two people who own both an Enzo and a CGT and both state that they would get rid of the Enzo long before the Porsche.

The McLaren F1 has always been my dream car, I am not gong to overpay for one like the one listed here. If the right car comes along I will be willing to buy it, but so far haven't found too many for sale.

A buddy of mine said a guy traded in his yellow one and some cash, for that red one in the pic.

I guess if you can afford this car ... you'll be driving it with 2 girls ... one on each side

If I did that my wife would make sure that I could no longer afford this car! She would probably make sure she got the car in the divorce just so she could destroy it!

My mistake, I should re-phrase that correctly. What I should have written is:
"I guess if you can afford this car ... you'll be driving it with 2 boys or 2 girls (to suit your taste) ... one on each side
