Hesitation in Motor

this morning i noticed a slight hesitation in my motor. the first time i noticed it was at normal acceleration and then again at a constant speed of 65 mph. the motor seemed to miss for a split second and then pick up again as normal. didn't have a chance this morning to listen to it at idle.

seems like a bad plug/wire or perhaps a problem with fuel flow.

anyone have any ideas that i could use to narrow down the problem?

I had a similar problem - At first is was very rare and unproduceable (the revs would drop a little unexpectedly). Eventually, it got to where my car would almost stall every few minutes, more frequently if the road was bumpy. The culprit was the main relay for the fuel injection system, which resides behind the passenger seat.

Your problem well may be something else, but if the following happens, you might have the same problem (a search for "main relay" on NSXPrime and NSXSC should find several posts):
1) The hesitation/rev drop starts to happen more often when on a rough road
2) The car eventually gets to a point where it almost stalls (revs drop way down and back up)
3) Electronic accessories (like the radio) are unaffected. If your accesories go out as well, check for a loose battery cable instead.

Good luck,
Aaron

Not a lot of information to go on so I will give you the "comprehensive" list that I can think of.

Things to look at:

1) Fuel filter
2) Plugs / plug wires
3) Timing done
4) Bad gas at last fillup
5) Bad ignition module on one or more cylanders
6) Vacuum connection leaking / loose

and probably a million other things - but stuff to think about

When one of my coils gave in 3 months ago, I had that same hesitation the first day or so...

It quickly changed into bad idle and running on 5 cyl. all the time.

nsx does'nt have plug wires i would say its safe to say one of the coil packs has gone bad especially if it's an earlier nsx (91',92'.'93' with some miles on it) common problem..
