Help removing dash trim.

The service manual is very vague... the trim that covers the seem from the defroster vents to the top of the dash and runs from side to side. Any insight to removing it?

I don't know if mine is just that tight, but I could not get it loose using all the trim removal techniques I know...

it looks like it might be attatched from the underside?????
 
As Brian said, the entire dashboard has to come out. The "defrost panel" is bolted into place and the only way to get to the mountng bolts is to remove the dashboard.

However, if you do go to the trouble to do it, you can permanently solve the common squeaking dashboard problem while you're at it. Before removing the dashboard, draw a line along where the dashboard lies on top of the defrost panel. After removing the dashboard, put some felt on that part of the defrost panel that's usually covered up by the dashboard => no more squeaking dashboard, ever.
