Help! I need some Quick advise from NSX owners

I don't buy cars that were leased just like rent-a-cars.

That's a fine strategy, but know that you will exclude a large number of good NSXs in your search. Honda had some good lease deals on the NSX in the past, and many owners took advantage of that. In fact, my 92 was first leased by the original owner. Then, when the lease ran out, he bought the car. He only drove it 12K miles between 1992 and 2000.

So, a leased NSX isn't a bad NSX just because it was leased. Keep that in mind when you are searching and take your time (as you already plan to do). :smile:

I think I'm jumping in too late, but for comparison in October 2006, I bought by Red/Tan 95 Auto with 63,500 miles on the clock and in very good condition (B rating at least) for $36,000. Mechanically she was all stock. Modifications included a Viper alarm system and radar detector with remote start, and a Kenwood CD, DVD and navigation system. T-belt, water pump and other services ($2,700 in total) was recently performed. Also, wheels were repainted and new front tires just installed. I found her in Bakersfield, CA, but she started her life in the U.S. back in Saint Louis. MO. I’m the third owner. Some state that autos go for less. However, I’m not in total agreement since there is a demand for autos and there fewer cars to choose from. But, that is another matter and I do not want to distract from this thread.

I found a Black 91 NSX with 78K miles on it BLK/BLK. It's an elderly lady and her husband just pasted away. I not sure if she knows what's the car is worth because she is only asking $17,000. I thought it was an error. I'll find out when I call her.

1995, with 55k, stock, red with tan interior.
Why did that car only sell for 29k ? That seems awfully low.

Hope you can get this car but a part of me (the good guy that I am) would say to you don't rip her off - seriously. I'd think you should tell her the car is worth $25K at least and offer her that.

I don't know it doesn't seem right to "steal" a car from an elderly person who's obviously lost a life long partner. Like she has the ability to know a NSX's value...she probably only knew the car to be her husbands pride and joy.

I'll get flamed for these comments but its true and we all know NSX's are valuable cars so paying $25k for this car knowing its probably been babied is worth it and you'll never lose on it.

If she wants $17k for it, then there is no reason why he shouldn't buy it for her asking price. He's not trying to tell her it's worth $12k and trying to rip her off. Any good business person would jump all over it, and what if some scumbag dealer decides to buy it and then flip it for $30k.

You are way late on this one I called 10 mins after the add came out the posting is as we say (to Good to be true) it was posted by ?????? and thay used that poor persons number. I flagged it right away and she thanked me very much.
