I have only a day or two to decide whether I want to lock in a deal on a 1995 NSX Brookland Green.
70K org. miles
Blk interior (good condition may need a new coin tray)
All 100% stock inside and out. Not even tinted windows or aftermarket exhaust)
69K replace OEM clutch
Replaced sensors both 02 sensorsh
Replace seals / gaskets V-tech and valve cover
90k maint. (replaced plugs, water pump, timing belt, valve adj,)
New battery
new brakes / resurfaced rotors
OEM wheels /75% on treads

So far what do you think the car is worth?? Next, what other things would I need to replace normally on a 95? Also this color combo is very rare only 1 of 11 produced in this color combo Green/Blk. What's the max I should reasonably offer this person?? After I get some feed back I'll tell you the price asking.

I viewed the Wiki Price Guide

Remember, I only have a day or two to decide otherwise it will be gone for sure!! I already have the cash.

This is the real deal. No B.S.

Update found on carfax:
It has 70K miles in Cali. I just did a carfax on the car and this is what I found:
here is what's on record:
6 other previous owners of this vehicle
It was mainly in N.Y. and MO. (east coast car)
It was at a auto auction and leased in 2002.
Car hit a median barrier in Queens N.Y.
Currently there is a lien or loan on the car.

Now what do you guys think?? Should I wait this one out??

Assuming everything you say is correct, I would offer about $30K with maximum at about $33K. If the seller is asking for less, I would give the seller his asking price (maybe offer $500 TO $1000 less asking) and close the deal. Good luck:smile:

Hmmm...doubt you'd get the car between $30 and 33K to be honest. I've recently paid "just under" $30K for my mint condition 1991 NSX with lower mileage.

Brooklands Green is a rare color and one which not alot of people like so beware for resale in the future. However, I love the color and if one were around in my budgeted price range when I was looking I would have taken it.

In terms of your car use the guide below to help you out. Sounds to me like your car is grade B/C give or take and the pricing reflected in that range is between $35,000 to $40,000 which I feel is realistic for this particular car not having seen it or driven it etc.

From the NSX FAQ WIKI Deal:
Grade Description
A+ Perfect in every way. Like it just came out of a museum. Very low miles. Fully documented.
A Excellent condition across the board. Very well maintained, low miles. No deferred maintenance.
B Very good condition. Average to lower miles. Little or no deferred maintenance.
C Average condition and average to higher miles. Shows wear. May have some deferred maintenance.
D Below average condition and/or high to very high miles. Needs some attention. Shows considerable wear. Lack of maintenance.
F Very poor condition, needs serious attention and/or has serious issues
X Salvage and/or very major issues
- Not generally applicable
Note: For an NSX, "average" mileage is roughly as follows: Low = 2,500/year - Average = 5,000/year - High = 10,000/year

Good luck and hopefully you'll become an owner.

Low 30's would be fair. Although the green and that combo is rare, it's also not one of the more desired colors by the great unwashed masses, so shouldn't command a premium.

As for other things to check. Look at the trunk and hatch struts to make sure they still do their job. Drive at highway speeds to check for wind noise around the windows. Do the windows roll up normally or do they go very slowly? Is the aircon nice and cold?

Sounds like a nice car. Post back, include pictures!

I think you are looking at spending $35-$37k for this car. It has had all major service done, new clutch, and has not been modded. Don't offend the seller by offering him a lowball number.

Edit: Does this car have 70K miles or 90K+ miles, and is it located in MN?

Yes, it is Manual Trans. and V-Tech. I wasn't aware that the was different engine models. I thought they were all V-tech

'Tech' is short for 'Technical'.
VTEC is an ancronym for Variable Valve Timing with Electronic Lift Control.
No Honda product has V-tech.
On the NSX you can look on the intake manifold cover and see it spelled out.
Look at this link.

Good luck with you purchase attempt of this car.
If it is the color you want and everything else is up to your standards then I wouldn't let a $1-2k stop you from getting it. Especially if you have the funds immediately ready.
Since that color combo wasn't highly produced, by your own admission, you probably won't ever get the chance again to buy one.
The ball is in your court now.....

If there is no frame damage, and the asking price is lower than what Prime member think it's a fair price, then I would jump on it if you are not color bias. Let us know what the asking price is regardless if you end up buying this NSX.

If I showed up with a cashier's check of $31,000, I think he'd take it. He doesn't drive it. He has only owned the car for 8 months and he has a loan on it. He's paying a loan for a car he rarely drives.

Yeah, well the color is a very non-sports car color, but that's okay. I like to have things that are not common and rare out there.

If the seller is willing to take $31k, I'll be driving over. Is the seller local (noticed you are in Monterey).

I agree 100 percent. Maybe even as high as $38-39K, considering all the services etc.

Those who claim this car is worth less than $35K - show us examples of an NSX-T currently for sale in that price range with all these services done. I doubt that you can find even one. NSX-Ts selling for $30-33K just about always have higher mileage, need new timing belts, etc.

Go for it. It's in the Bay Area / Concord. Bring the cash and see if he bites on it.
After looking at the carfax late last night, I think I'll pass on this car too much history and owners. I don't buy cars that were leased just like rent-a-cars. I'll wait for a better and cleaner one even if I have to pay more money.

I have the carfax on the car if anyone is interested. Just PM me with your email and I can forward it to you if you want.

Thanks guys for all your input.

For now I'll just have to be patient.

If you do a search on cars.com, there's a 1995 Green/Blk with 94K. All service done and the asking price is $29,900.

I think that's a nice color combo, but it usually goes for a slightly lower price than more popular colors....so I've noticed. Also, the interior seems to be in ratty condition....I would try using that to negotiate the price down. Good Luck!

Just PM you for CarFax report. Another one will come along. If something is telling you that this is not the car for you, then you are probably right. You don't want to have buyer remorse.

Thanks a lot guys for all your support. I'll just have to enjoy my Twin Turbo Z for now. I'm sure something will come along soon.

I would definitely would not hesitate on the following NSX colors if they are available 1991-1997:
1. Yellow
2. Silver
3. Red
4. Green
5. Black

Add the NSX to the ZX...so they don't get lonely!
