HELP! Clutch stuck in first, parked on street

What’s up with that? It’s not like it was child porn or something!
Did it get edited? And if so who did the editing? Is there a way to tell if a thread has been changed? What is the process. Are the contributors notified?

I too got a couple of my not entirely germane posts deleted in the last day or so.

Yes, the folks who get their posts deleted, get notified.

I don't think there is a way to determine post-facto if a thread has deleted posts.

Looks like NSXprime is making the world a better place by moderating (the process) negative posts.

From now on I will Get Happy

Thanks for the reply. And the short.
In this instance I don’t think it’s too important. But on principle I think that it’s a slippery slope and from a freedom of speech point of view it feels wrong to me. A little sad and a little scary.
I do hope the Moderators take this responsibility seriously. This is a public forum and as such should we not err on the side of freedom of speech? Unless someone is doing something destructive like posting the same thing 1000 times.
Moderators, please understand you have great power and with that comes great responsibility.
Please take that responsibility seriously. We are not living in China!
Yours respectfully,

Patrick

Brought it to a shop to to replace the slave and the slave rubber hose connector. They bled it and refilled. I drove off and everything was fine but the pedal was a bit softer than usual. After a while, I noticed that the pedal was unusually soft for several inches before it engaged the release fork.

The same symptoms of not being able to release came back but the pedal was definitely weaker for the first 2 - 3 inches of travel (approx.) I suspected either air or just old fluid as the reservoir definitely wasn't nice and clean like D'ecosse's pics.

Got my brother to help me pump (with his hands) the clutch pedal to flush the fluid. I got him to start the pump stroke and then I would loosen the bleeder. He let me know when he was close to the bottom and I would tighten and then tell him to stop pressing and lift. When he got to the top, I would again tell him to start pumping before I loosened the bleed screw.

We did this in intervals of 5 then topped up the fluid. Not sure what the shop did but the fluid was still very green with lots of bits inside along with some bubbles. After we used more than 50% of the Honda brake fluid, it was perfectly clear. I checked it while it was on jack stands and it worked like a charm. The lost pressure came back and was like it was the day I got it back from Autowave more than a year ago.

Conclusion: always check your fluids! Don't be a dumbass like me; see green fluid with specs and just assume it's ok! If the fluid is not the same color as it is in a new bottle, it probably needs changing! When changing hydraulic parts, change both master and slave including any rubber hoses (change to solid piping if possible).

LOL If it's dark, it needed changing a while ago. The black specks you found are broken pieces of rubber seal. Absorbed moisture hastens seal deterioration in addition to causing corrosion.

Yup... dumbass I am! Lesson learned! The HARD way...

I've been told to change the fluid every year. Easy enought to do. I'm also going to add a small protective rubber tube on the bleeder screws' exposed threads.

Good job on the bleeding G - shameful that the shop didn't flush & replace the fluid as part of the job. <!--StartFragment -->
