I was adding the backlit guages and broke my speedo. Searched the Acura/Honda eStore and seems like the part I need is: 78120-SL0-A03. Does this really cost $1058!? This is crazy.

Yes this is tru ... by the way which guages were you doing the ones that slide over the needles or the ones you have to remove them ?

the ones that slide over. Everything went fine - but when I was screwing back in the screws - the screws would just keep spinning and not locking. I heard this clicking sound as I was tightening - and now it doesn't work. I took the back cover off of the speedometer and saw a coppercoil that connects to 2 screws/bolts - the wires had broken off. Anyone think if I solder back the connections it would work again?

Solder it. It already broke, what's the worst you can do, fix it?

Go ahead a solder away. You might take it to an electronic shop that has smaller equipment for the job.

Placing overlays is just silly: they just don't last and they ruin your cluster permanently.

I've got a '94 that the person who had it before me felt the need to put on some white gauge faces, which cant seem to stay stuck due to florida humidity so they keep popping up and making the gauge needles stick, of course he epoxyed them on so the original gauge faces look horrible, i'd love to just bring this back to stock.....i'm sure the '91 - '94s are all the same, i have a manual transmssion, i've seen some gauge sets that have the stuff for an automatic on it. Please email me at [email protected] if you have one available. thanks.
