Ok, so LONG STORY short -- a gentlemen posted a thread on the Pelican Parts Forum for a family that was coming to visit SoCal. They have a son named Alexander. He is 21 and dying from MD which is so tragic because they lost their other son as well. It was Alexander's dream to see and hear some exotic vehicles. Anyways, the good'ol boys over on Ferrarichat came together in 24hrs (the post was very last minute notice, yet they still threw it together) and brought 10 Ferrari's w/police escort and a goody bag from Auto Gallery with a bunch of Ferrari stuff. Truly an amazing story and effort from everyone to make it come together. I had an awesome time reading and watching it go from a dream to a reality.

Unfortunately I am in SF or I would have participated without a doubt. So I get to the end of the thread and notice that the originator of the meetup for Alexander mentioned that Alexander would be back on the 23rd and leaving the 24th mid-day. He put together the plan that we can escort him in a parade of a 21 mile drive, 1 mile for each year of his wonderful life. So now I am STOKED because the whole time reading the thread I was bummed I missed out on it as I am always a lover of these type of events.

So...I am not sure if any of you can make it...BUT when I signed up on Ferrarichat I did say "hopefully bringing 3-4 more NSX's" so lets make it happen! Maybe we can meet and do this and then go for a little drive and then early dinner or happy hour somewhere? If you have the free time I really ask of you to give a little of it and make this guy smile. It's moments like these where I am proud to be part of an awesome car community!

Who is in for Alexander?!

Is that this saturday? I would go if I wasn't going to be out of town this weekend. If it changes to a weekday then I am in.

Best of wishes to alexander.

Yes this Saturday. Thanks for the wishes man, I'll pass them on to him!

*Update From Fchat*

Latest update:
Depart Bubank mid day or before noon. This all depends how Alexander feels and getting him ready. (not an easy thing for the family). We will have Min. 21 Miles drive up (north). I will remain escorting them to Ventura. Henry will pick up in Ventura along with other F car owners and escrot them to Santa Barbara. In Santa Barbara, Sam (Way2Fast) will try to get a group together.

So the sign up are as follows so far:

Los Angeles Group:
1. Haig (Silver Testa)
2. Linda (Porsche 996)
3. Supercar Ace (BMW E46 M3)
4. Steve (FastRed355)
5. Kev (360)
6. Hank (Rachel)
7. Stephen (Turbo NSX)
8. Mike (Red or BLK TR)
9. Mickey (430 Spyder)

**This list doesn't include the Lambo guys yet**

I'll try to make it. Please keep us posted on the plans.

What time and where we meeting? I'm pretty much open for Saturday. I guess this is a better get together to do and also doing it for a really good cause. WOW...changing and touching someone's heart is definitely something.

Good for you guys. I am in San Francisco so I can't participate but it makes me proud to be part of this community because of guys like you.

Sorry guys I have a full plate on Saturday. You guys are the best.

Come on guys. I would really really love to show up with at least 6 or 7 of us! I know there is at least that many that can make this happen. Couple hours of your time, so money on gas, miles on your car.....it's ALL worth it to put a smile on Alexander's face! In fact, if you want to be reimbursed for gas or time taken off from work to make this happen just say the word and I will do so!

Also, if you cannot attend, maybe you can post up a message for Alexander and I will c/p all the messages and print them out for him and hand it to him from the NSX community.

Just thinking out loud that it would be nice if they could make it out to C&C as well; but given all the driving that they're doing and the logistics of it, I doubt that an early morning drive down to OC would be enticing.

Yeah, that has been brought up and unfortunately they won't have the ability to attend. But definitely a good idea!

Re: Help a Dying Young Man's Dream Come true

Noble he is but he's still gay sometimes.

Steve,

Unfortunately, I am unable to attend, but please give my best wishes to Alexander. I know he will have a great time meeting some of the guys and gals from the NSX community.

Alexander have fun and take lots of pictures.

Alexander,

I won't be able to make it to this, though it sounds like it'll be a blast. I'm in Northern California and have an appointment I can't get out of that day. I wish I could be there with you to experience so many cool cars all together for a day. So you're going to have to enjoy them for me, deal? If you can get your address to SFDreamer, I'll make sure you get a copy of the photo CD from Northern California's NSX Spring Fling from last weekend.

Sincerely,
James

Hi Alexander,

I hope you have a great time this weekend with all of those nice cars! I wish I could make it, but I have to pour concrete that day. :frown:

Have fun,
Dan

Hey Alexander!

Sorry I can't make it down for this event. I hope you enjoy all of the nice cars that will be there!

Sincerely,
Ryan

What's up Steve, definitely a very good thing you are doing for this young kid ~ what a terrible thing to happen at such a young age for sure. I can tell you are the noble type just by the way you hold your girl's purse in that one photo! haha

Alexander,

Hope you have a great time at this event - apologies I won't be able to attend but all of us here in Norcal wish you the best! :)

Let me just say how impressed Yolanda and I are with the effort your putting together on this matter. It's special people who go out of their way to start the ball rolling for a cause such as this. We could find the time to come down from the Bay Area and not only support you and the SoCal NSXers, but even more importantly show support to the young man and his family. If everything goes as you plan and nothing unforseen should arise you can count us in. Way to go, your a good man!

Alexander,

Best wishes. Hope you enjoy the exotics. Sorry I am in San Francisco or I would have my NSX available for you.
