Heater doesn't seem to be working right

So it sounds like the valve is bad also then, or just the contol head not performing that function properly?
When/if I remove the valve will water run all over the floor?

I have read through the disscussion of the "No Heat Problem". Was a solution found? If so, how did you resolve the problem? My car just developed the same affliction. The air conditioning works fine but no heat.
I am wondering if the cabin temp. sensor may have failed. Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated.

Briank,

When I put the car up for the winter I will remove the Climate Controle circut board. If you are willing to repair it I would like to send it to you. Please send details on cost of the repair as well as shipping information.
My email address is: [email protected]

yes for the most part the problem was fixed. Thank you BrianK. I need to get the ambient temp sensor to better fix it, but heat works great now and so do all the modes.

I want to thank everyone who posted in this thread. This morning I went to turn on the heat in my '94 and got cool air, but no heat. The A/C blows cold, but no heat. Luckily I found this thread. From what I can tell, I need to yank out the climate control unit. BrianK, what is your current turn around time on this job? Also, do you still have the JDM spec one for sale that is fully reconditioned? If that is compatible I may just consider that to eliminate down time.

I am doing 3 - 5 day trunarounds at present, I still have the JDM unit if you what to buy it or rebuilt control boards also.

Question re: proper functioning of the CCU. With the system set to Auto (not Full Auto), temp set to 62 or so and A/C button set so "A/C Off" is displayed, it still feels as if the a/c is still on - i.e., cold air is still coming out of the vents. If I press the A/C button again so "A/C On" is displayed, I can hear the compressor come on and yes, I still get cold air from the vents.

Heat works just fine and running the CCU diagnostics shows no problems.

I'm aware that the owner's manual does say that the system runs continuously at maximum cooling if temp is set to 60 and maximum heat if temp is set to 90. I'd expect those two extremes to override any other settings made. In my case, I've got the temp set to 62 - 64 with "A/C Off", yet still seem to be getting a/c.

FWIW, the CCU in my wife's 02 Accord (pretty much the same as in the NSX) seems to exhibit similar issues. Just something I'm not fully understanding about Honda Automatic Climate Controls?

As long as the compressor is off what you have the AC off showing everything id good. It's just bringing in outside air which will feel cool. When you go to AC on you will get cool air but not cold air because heat is added to control the output air temp.

Thanks, Brian. Probably just me needing to get accustomed to its usage. Her Accord always drove me crazy since I drove it very infrequently and it was more sophisticated than the climate control in my RSX which isn't digital (and I never set to Auto). Now that I've got the same CCU in the NSX, I tend to fiddle with it a lot more.

Well, likely add another CCU problem to this thread from a 1995 NSX. I haven't had time to do any testing but the symptoms sound identical.
