Hey guys, I did a search looking up how to remove the headliner and interior B pillars from my '92 coupe, but came up with nothing.

Looking at the car, I am pretty baffled as to how to remove the headliner, but am thinking if I can remove the B-Pillar, I'll probably uncover the screws I need to get to if any. I've exposed the underside of the interior B-Pillar by removing the black panels and the bulkhead cover itself exposing the firewall, but beyond that I don't even know how to remove the seatbelt from the B-Pillar itself. Do I have to detach the belt from the seat? And if so, how do I do that too?

Sorry for all the questions, but I figure answering one of these will hvae a chain reaction of answers that will ultimately lead me to removing the headliner. The reason is, I am planning to CF wrap the headliner and interior b pillars and need it out of the car in order to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

2 - 8mm nuts from the inner B pillars (Be careful) You will need a 1/4 inch ratchet and deepwell socket. Just loosen them and remove with finger if possible) If you have Sausage fingers then have a magnet ready so you don't drop them. Be careful removing this, and watch the small tabs on the top. You can also if you want to go in detail remove the outer A pillar cover. This is mounted by philips head screws also.

The top interior light cover removal has philips screw heads. I used a small needle pick to pull the light cover off. A small flat head can do the same.

Remove the visors

The rest is pull down carefully, The front should have play as it will be hanging down a tad. Just be careful to not bend the headliner.

Hope that helps

For some reason, I've always had problems downloading this file until now. Thanks so much for providing this to me, it's a good idea to look in here. I just never thought to do so since opening this file was never an option until now. Thanks!

This is all very helpful, thanks a lot. I was a little bit lost by when you said remove the outer A-Pillar Cover however, what is this step required for? Thanks again!

This is an alternative from breaking the small plastic tabs from the B Pillar. Just pull the door seal away and you will see the philip head screws. You can pull the outer A Pillar away and remove the B pillar without scratching paint or breaking the plastic tab on the top front forner to the B Pillar. This portion connects to the outer A pillar

Good to know, thanks for the helpful info. I will be working on this and perhaps posting progress of this work on this same thread to show what comes of it. Thanks a bunch!

Soundslike you're talking about removing outside of pillars. Question is about insides. I recall that inside pilar trim comes off when surrounding trim pieces (like weather striping) is removed. Similar for liner save for light/visor screws (though I've never had liner of NSX off).

You can remove that but it isn't necessary. Coming from first timers experience. I broke those little tabs on one side and the other side I removed the outer pillar and everything was fine. Took an extra step and time which I should have done. You are correct. Inner B pillar panel does come off. It is attached by philips head screws. I didnt mention, they are noticeable.
