My 98' has a CTSC, CT-Engineering airbox+lid, headers and exhaust (Gen2). Its definitely louder than stock, but its nowhere near "loud" as far as aftermarket exhaust go. The sound is very similar to OEM, just a tick or 2 louder. You'll hear the hiss of the intake and whine of the supercharger over the exhaust. If anything, its a bit too quite. I wish it was a tad louder and had more character (rasp).

My favorite sounding exhaust would be high-pitched scream of the GT-One 5.1 or Pride V2, but I hear those drone a bit and they are quite loud in person. A local member here has the Taitec GTLW and is is VERY loud. Maybe he has testpipes or HFC? Don't know.

I have a CTSC with Comptech headers and exhaust with B-Line Hi-Flow cats. I love the sound, not too loud but just the right tone!!! Plus all the Comptech parts are CARB legal.

Oh yea, you'll save a good amount of weight going aftermarket headers/exhaust. Anywhere from 30-40lbs, which nicely offsets the weight of adding in the supercharger.

I think it weighs less, but not positive.

Elaborate "not positive"..........

I have heard Comptech GEN I on Youtube. Now is GEN II that you have any difference than GEN I ?

you don't need aftermarket headers your 2000 ones are fine.Much better flowing than the na1 manifolds.

I have not looked at the newer CT engineering nor angus tips...so can't help you there.I chose the gtlw because it was lightweight...the sound was not my main concern.

I'm in the bay area and have an angus exhaust. Currently I have the OEM NA2 headers but will be installing the CT headers along with CTSC soon. If you'd like to check out my car before or after the install, I'd be happy to meet up. Just PM me.

How do like your angus exhaust? Who will do your installation ?

The more HP you try to free up the more $ you spend for every incremental gain in HP. It depends what your personal threshold is. Na2 headers is low hanging fruit, say $400 for 10 HP. You can spend $1000-1500 for 15 HP. Thats 400% more for an additional 5hp. Not to mention aftermarket headers can be louder of which only one is carb approved.

That totally makes a lot of sense. NA2 would be sufficient for me as long as it will not damage the engine. I personally think chasing after hp would not be a wise idea. I would save that money for deposit on the new one. My original plan was the slap the Ctsc on and call it for the day.

Talking about freeing up, Comptech headers claim carb exempt . What is the difference btw Oem vs. comptech ? Is it just a little bit wider and a little bit less restrictive than Oem ?

Would anyone here shine me some light the QUALITY, not the sound, of Angus exhaust?

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!!!!

As you probably know - everything I have now are all Supercharged.

Just look at my signature.

I have all 3 types of SC.

Everyone of them have free flowing exhaust - including long tube headers for the GTO and NSX and short tube headers (basically a hybrid of the NA2 OEM headers and the rest of the aftermarket headers) for the truck.

In all of my research on superchargers and their exhaust requirements my summation was that it's wise to have the least restrictive exhaust so that back pressure doesn't build in the combustion chamber - increasing dynamic compression.

That would hurt performance and increase chances of cracking the piston crowns.

So u really need to think long and hard if u will "really" be happy with the power with CTSC and CARB legal boost or if u will have the itch for more power where it will warrant a long tube headers like the rest of the ones out there.

If it's the later then just do the right headers once and be done with it so u don't spend double the labor costs of switching out headers.

The quality looks good. Nice clean welds and good fitment. It is a little higher in price than some. I think I've seen $1,800 quoted somewhere. But, as I said it was already on my car when I bought it. My old 91 NSX had Pride V2 and I really liked that exhaust. I thought, when I made the deal on my current NSX, that it had the stock exhaust. I was ready to order Pride for it until I saw and heard the Angus when I bought the car. You can't go wrong with either Pride or Angus. As I said before, exhausts are a matter of personal preference. Look at as many as you can and select the one that you like.

too bad dave doesn't live out in the bay area ;)

I just scheduled with Shad at Driving Ambition to install my kit -- pretty excited!

Also, I love my Angus exhaust but it does drone around 2800-3000 rpm. This slightly bothers me so I really only use 6th gear when coasting at 75+ on the freeway

Shad gave me the combo deal on the CT exhaust and muffler and he will install them with supercharger this 27th. When will yours be?

My Angus only drones between 2300 and 2500 RPM. One of my friends told me it was the first after market exhaust that he's heard that even the drone sounded awesome. It's running with the stock cats so the drone isn't very loud. Though I own an S2000 with HKS exhaust that drones much louder so the NSX seems much quieter to me.

...thats funny....."even the drone sounds good"......try to convince Dave(netviper) of that:wink:
