Hi guys,

I'm having DC sports headers installed in my 92. The dealer called me and said they may have to notch the engine mount to get one of them in. Has anyone seen this in their own car?

I have never heard of it before, and the tech said its only a "maybe" after doing a test fit. Any thoughts out there?

Good find. Thanks.

I don't think grinding a little material will make a difference in the structure of the car. I know the vibration would make me crazy.

Any DC Header owners out there care to chime in?

I just took the Comptech headers (manufactured by DC) off my car that I had put on in 1995. Nothing was notched and there was enough clearance eveywhere. It's a tight fit getting the front headers into position (past the engine mount and the a/c compressor) and it would surely be easier if some metal was ground away on the engine mount, but once the headers were in, the fit was perfect and there were no rattles.

I just had a look, and after some repositioning, they fit just fine.

Lots of clearance as it turns out. Thanks for the help guys. Prime saved the day!
