OK, i dont know where this question belongs...cause im a NOOB, but i guess it belongs here..anyway has anyone ever read this book?

titled...Going Faster! Mastering the Art of Race Driving by carl lopez

and if so is it any good?

It is a great book. I read this book after my first track event. It goes over most of the basic things you need to know about track driving. It covers from just track driving basics to racing.

Of course this is the only performance driving book I've read. So I can't compare to anything else available out there. But I can tell you that it gave me a good mind set and what to expect on my second HPDE event.

Not sure if it is a good book for the more experienced drivers though. May be some track gurus can chime in.

Yes, I have it. I think that it's an excellent book. I found it to be a bit difficult to comprehend when I read it before the first HPDE event. However, things started making sense as I gained more experiences at the track.

I have that book too. Since I haven't finished reading Going Faster, I haven't had a chance to crack open Speed Secrets yet. How do you compare the 2 books?

Hi, CDub,

I felt that Speed Secret was user friendly version (or Cliff Note) of Going Faster. I read Going Faster first, but I later wished that I had read Speed Secrets first. It is not as detailed as Going Faster, but it will quickly get you the bigger picture. Once I finished Speed Secrets, I could grasp the materials in Going Faster much easier.
