Well after trading my GTR for a GT3, i had odd complications with my first gt3 that i fell in love with. After some PPI's and research the first GT3 i got was a lemon and i was out to find another. I found that one but for some reason the fire wasn't there anymore, i was trying to pin-point a vehicle i would want to keep/enjoy yet also just really love. I went test driving Mclarens, R8, Lambos.. even though they were phenomenal and many people would thoroughly enjoy owning one. Just wasn't feeling it... till one day i found it and flew out to Utah to make sure that it wasn't just eye candy.

This monday ill be a proud owner of a 1971 Nissan 2000GTX done up by JDM Legends in Utah. Eric @ JDM Legends is truly a master of his craft and knows these cars inside out. He gave me a tour of his facility and also some rides to feel some beefy L28s!

thanks for looking! i hope to keep updating this thread a little here and there but next mods will probably be a huge overhaul of suspension/motor.. oh and shoutout to Synth19! super helpful

Oh man, I have always loved the look of these cars. Great choice in something different.

How is driving something like that? Creaky, loud, oil fumes, race car feel? Looks pretty clean. Congrats.

So when will Japanese cars get the international respect they deserve? Looks awesome.

thanks everybody :) cant wait

little update:

I had Eric @ JDM Legends update certain things which showed the age of my old carbs so we ordered a set of new Weber carbs. He noticed how i had the old style log headers so i went with the better GT-R headers with ceramic coating also attached my new twin pipe exhaust with my new steering wheel as well. During that time we wanted to spruce up the engine bay a little since it was changing quite a bit so got the valve cover powder coated the same as my fender flares (crystal grey)

Forgot to add that before the carb situation, when i test drove the vehicle i didnt really like how the brakes took so long to actually bite. So we added new bearings, cleaned up the rear drums, and added some new SS lines/pads.

Good luck tuning those carbs for Denver. I grew up in Denver and went to school at cu Boulder, back in the day I had a 240z with triple webers. It was VERY challenging tuning them at 5000 feet. (Peaks and valleys in the throttle etc) I spent a lot of time with an air flow meter and different jets and a co2 reader. In the end the car ran much better with the su carbs you took off. So keep them as I'll bet you will want them back on. nice car

sick!!! Nissan needs to do what Ford, Dodge and Chevy have done with Mustang, Charger and Camaro and bring that thing back!!! Just such a simple yet beautiful design.... They would sell a ton of those !!!

That reminds me of way back in the 80's when I had triple webers on my 240z. I knew very little about them and tuning them but nonetheless I felt like a king when I opened the hood. That looks great.

Good God some cars had such great style before all makers started paying a lot of attention to each other and went into cookie-cutter mode, pirating any unique design aspect that any one maker would introduce! Such a nice car inside and out, so unique and interesting to look at. (Hope nobody bursts my bubble and tells me that this design was pirated from another maker back then !)

I had twin Webers on my 79 Accord. I had a mechanic that could tune them to perfection. They were trouble free for many years and are still being used on an old Mini today.
