Hagerty Valuation Opinions

I'd like to chime in here with 2 observations that I've been pondering about concerning Hagerty's rating system.

1. - Most people will look at a "Hagerty #2 " as a #1 since they don't understand what a #1 is since there are so few of them. Virtual "museum pieces" are so far and few, that they assume the local 19k mile NSX owned by the over obsessive semi-pro detailer who spent 5 hours detailing the undercarriage of the car the night prior to the lawn event at your local car show, is a #1 when by their standards its not.

Point being - Real world Scale (closer to what you see used on the TV Show "What's my car worth" - a Hagerty 2 is a #1

2.) Carrying the "Real World" Conversation - there is a gap that exists between the Hagerty 3 and 2. Perhaps one could argue that it isn't a gap, its just that a #3 can represent a WIDE range of cars and thus a wide range of $$$
