GT4 NSX Collage PIcs

When you're in B-Spec mode, they will automatically detect when your tires are worn out and call the driver in to pit. Whatever selection of tires you made before the race will be the choice for the rest of the race. If you let it run at 3x the speed, it will revert back to normal speed after a pit stop, so you can just let the race run at regular speed or fast forward it again.

I've been using my 1153hp Toyota GT-One racecar for a couple of the endurance races and I just used the Honda NSX-R LM Road Car for the Tsukuba 9hr I completed last night (only about 3 hours to complete because I was around the house to actually keep fast forwarding it after pit stops.)

Interesting that it will self drive- Do I need to drive for a few laps to set it up, or just run B-spec from the get go?

I'll leave it run all day while I am at work if it will get me some better cars to run the challenges in.

Do I need Superlicense for this? I have through IA right now.

Nope, you can choose B-Spec mode right before the race and off you, well, the simulated driver goes!

I believe most of the endurance races are just A/B/IA/IB licensed races only.

Have fun...

Just an update... B-spec is running 9 hours of Tsukuba on my Playstation right now :)
I should have a new ride when I get home from work.

8hrs of Motegi is next...

I feel like a cheater, but at the same time I can use these cars to run in the big time races, so I don't feel too compromised.

I find it so hard to believe that at one time the Atari 2600 represented the "cutting edge" of home video gaming...

Anyone remember Pole Position? How far we have come...

Philip

Not a cheater...just a different perspective on the race. You get to be part of the pit crew...the pit crew chief...for the race.

To really cheat, is to use the GameShark and get unlimited money and unlock all licenses and arcade tracks, and have all cars available in the garage. I tried it, it's pretty sweeeeet. The HSC I had to earn it myself, I used the B-spec mode with a fully modified NSX-R with Mugen Parts! Aways came in first, but had to pit in the middle of the race to replenish with new tires. I just notice that tires will affect performance. Also, after I won the car, I couldn't find it in my garage, because I was looking under Honda. But it's actually under Acura Brand! Also to tune the HSC, you need to go into Acura Tune Shop... can't wait to try a 500 HP HSC!

Do you have USB "keychain" drive? These will plug into the PS2 USB port and you can write directly to it. I'm sure you can find a low-capacity one cheap if $$ is a problem.

True. Try the Formula GT race series, where all of your opponents are F1 cars, so you HAVE to have an F1 car to compete or even keep up in those races. I just used B-spec in there but you can't just let it run on its own (on a few tracks you can). But on some of them you need to be smart about when you pit and for how long.... you can tell it to refuel or not to refuel. And when you have to fuel up the next time around, you can cut it off when you want to in order to get back into the race asap. Trust me, you need to do this in some of those tracks you race in order to win or you're going to drop down to 6th place really fast.

Heh, I haven't played GT4 at all since I did those pics almost 2 weeks ago, let alone even use my PS2 (only game that I play is GT4, or once in a blue moon GTA - San Andreas).

Can the guys with the HSC tell me how it runs compared to the NSX, NSX-R, Etc...
I know that R&T already has an article on this but i want opinions from NSX owners.

NSX-R modified close to about 500 HP: I like this more than the HSC. Car is very stable around corners with the super soft tires.

HSC modified close to about 500 HP: Around corners, need to slow down a bit, car can get out of control easily...again, maybe cuz I was going 120 mph into a hairpin turn

I too seem to prefer the NSX-R to the HSC...even stock...but I haven't really put the HSC to the test yet (i.e. I haven't competed in any events with it).

How close to 500HP were you able to get your NSX=R? I wanted to run the NSX-R in the supercar challenge, but you need something like 493hp minimum and I think I could only get mine close to 450hp. I ended up completing the event with the Saleen S7 (I far preferred the handling of my NSX-R). Funny thing is that the HSC is one of the competitors in some of these races, but the game doesn't let YOU run concept cars!

Have you won 8 hours of Motegi road course yet?
That White NSX-R LM you win in that race can be boosted to nearly 1000hp while retaining the NSX handling charecteristics you like.

Just a thought...

Thus far I have bought or won...
99 NSX Type-S Formula Red (It looks like our NSX- wheels and all, bought it for the photo mode)
05 NSX Type R- fully modified
02 NSX-R concept - won it
NSX-R LM Roadcar- white, pumped up
NSX-R LM Racecar- 850 hp or so...
HSC Concept

I guess I like them NSX's... I have a few.

Of course... I don't even want to go into the rest of the Garage, I am up to 64 cars overall, including some of the wilder exotics of the game.

Lately I am running the extreme condition events- no B-spec available for those, but fun times running an M5 wide open in those narrow paved corridors where you can get penalized for hitting the walls! I think my skills are rising to a whole new level on these courses.

No. I'm only around 16% complete and still finishing the professional series races...in other words, I haven't even unlocked those races yet!

Excellent. Can't wait to get it.

I currently don't have any of the NSX race cars (I've come close to buying the ARTA and Takata Dome NSX on a number of occassions...but then decided to save my money - currently just over $2,000,000 - for other potential purchases).

As for NSXs, I have the following in my garage:
'91 Acura NSX Formula Red (had to have the classic red with black top)
'98 Honda NSX Type S Monza Red Pearl (in my earliest photo mode shots)
'99 Honda NSX Type S Zero Grand Prix Red (one that looks more like our red...haven't seen one offered in Formula Red in GT4's used car lots)
'01 Honda NSX-R Concept
'02 Honda NSX-R Championship White - mostly modified (over 400hp)
'04 Acura HSC Concept

I am about 34% done on two files...so does that make me 68% done in total? :D I'm scared to get into these bigger races though.

I was only like 12% when I stopped playing the Japanese version...so my combined total is still less than each of your files. I need more time with GT4!

Anyone have some suggestions as to what car to use to win the last championship in the prfessional series?? Those prototypes are kicking my butt!!!

Do you really mean the GT world championship or the Supercar championship? If it's the last: GT 4 is kind of betraying you - your competitors are prototypes like Nardo, Nuvolari etc but you are not allowed to use the same cars

I won this (only in B spec mode yet) with a maxed out Viper SRT 10 (nearly 1000 hps). But it seems that I only get the last championship in the Pro series when I won all other beginners and Pro races in A spec mode - bummer!

Another remark (after about 27%): The B spec mode in the endurance races is sometimes nothing to let it race alone. I just encountered in the 24 hours of Nuerburgring that the pit and race strategy is crap - pit stops too late (tires are too worn) and you're always stuck behind lapped cars (without activating the passing mode). The difference between automatic B spec and "managed" B spec can be 4th and 1st place!

I used my Minolta Toyota GTP car pumped out to 1164hp after the Prototypes whupped on me in my NSX-R LM road car (nearly 1000hp in that one). I was repeatedly tapping the nitrous on the long straight in the Tokyo race, and the NSX was still getting schooled by the Audi, BMW, and Toyota prototypes.
With the Minolta car I was pacing them, passing them, then just plain smoking them. I ran away from the championship with all 1st's last Sunday afternoon.

I have my sights set on that BMW LM V12 as my first big prototype purchase. I have the 1:18 Kyosho model- that BMW is probably my favorite race car of all time.

The sad thing is we had a gorgeous weekend here in Dallas, and I spent it in front of the bigscreen cursing under my breath, and building a thumb callous.

Philip

My buddy and I have discussed this at length. we're in the same dilemna
The jgtc500 cars dont quite have enough to keep up with the prototypes, and so far i've been unable to win any prototypes as prizes. its frustrating!

I won a few of the prototype cars in some of the shorter endurance races. The 89 Toyota GT car is insane, I love it. I think I won it using my 350Z LM (also a great car.)

Also, the supercar section at the bottom of pro, I used a modded Skyline to whup butt.

yea, i just sucked it up and did a 200 mile race at el capitan today. at least i know the track now, and have the minolta.

Now I definently feel like a cheater using B-spec- this dude just ran around El-Capitan for 200 digital miles on manual control?!?!?

I lack that kind of dedication. I think I was watching Seinfeld when I won El-Capitan- but I used a RUF- so all things are in fact circular. :)

Congrats on winning the GTP car- you earned it!
