GT-Rom Kansai

DJ thanks for the post. I recently bought the F1 V5, and F1 manifold. Just received the Jazz sensors. The Apexi exhhaust valve control instructions are ALL japanese. Is there any way to get a quick translation of this so I can at least install/use correctly?

Also please tell me about the engine torque damper. Is this for older cars? what is its use?

I am so happy to have you here!

DJ could you tell me how much would this bumper cost? Thanks.

Hello, Mr. Tamura just told me to tell you "Arigatou, choushi wa dou?"

This means thank you and how is your car running with the new parts? He also said the English instructions should be in the Apexi box along with the Japanese ones. Let me know if you still can't find them and I'll see if I can get you a PDF file ASAP!

Once again thank you for the business and post a pic or too if you got 'em!

Hello and thanks for the inquiry. The photo you posted is of two parts, the front bumper and the lip spoiler. From your current set up it looks like you have the stock '02 front bumper update so if you only want the lip spoiler let me know. I love NSX's in that blue too. Not too many of them in Japan...

1. Get the price in yen from GT-roms website.

2. Go to google.com

3. write "(the price)yen in (desired currency)" ex. "88000yen in $"

4. ...and there you have it!

DJ could you tell me how much would this bumper cost? Thanks.

GT-One Front Bumper 82,320 Yen - $698
GT-One Front Lip Spoiler 25,200 Yen - $214
Sub Total 107,520 Yen - $911
Door to Port Shipping 35,000 Yen - $297
Total 142,520 Yen - $1,208
You are responsible for taxes, the cost can't be calculated from Japan. The actual US$ amount is unknown, depends on the exchange rate. If you need our bank info send me a PM and I'll get right on it. We of course have this and more in stock!

I'm very curious about this mod as well. Any info you have DJ would be greatly appreciated.

DJ from GT-Rom here,

The engine is mounted from the bottom. Of course it is torqued but it isn't as stable when the accel pedal is pressed, simply put it shakes a lot and this is a loss of power and response. With the engine damper you eliminate a lot of this shaking and get a better response. Hope that explains it, many drivers here consider it a very good tune. I need one for my RX-7!

Thanks DJ also what does this mean? I saw it on the description of the part on your site.
"In case of NA2, there are times when it is necessary to modify some routing such as cable."

DJ form GT-Rom here,

This is why I have a job! Mr. Tamura meant that with the NA2 mounting location, you might have to bend the cable around the Torque cylinder because it touches. I can send a picture of what he means, but he's such a perfectionist you will probably wonder why he brought it up. But that's quality!

DJ from GT-Rom here,
The first link is to a piece that helps with cornering. I will have to sit down with Mr. Tamura to get a better and more technical explanation if you need, but I do know it involves removing the front fenders so you need a good mechanic for the install.
The second is an engine torque damper. The engine is mounted from the bottom. Of course it is torqued down but it isn't as stable when the accel pedal is pressed, simply put it shakes a lot and this is a loss of power and response. With the engine damper you eliminate a lot of this shaking and get a better response. Hope that explains it, many drivers here consider it a very good tune.
The last one is a hose kit to dress up the engine room. Not sure about the performance benefits if any, but they look good:cool:

Costs are as posted in Yen, and shipping will vary, but I just shipped one damper out to the States for about $60 I think.

Thanks DJ. Actually I have a modified 91 bumper. Base on the price given I will get the front bumper and probably the GT-One or Taitec Tracy lip spoiler end of this month. Air freight and hopefully my dad won't notice until it's installed on the car. Btw, the GT-One 02R rear spoiler is having brake light or not?

I don't believe the 02R has a brake light, but I have seen some custom jobs and my NSX in Hawaii had one, but I didn't attach it:tongue:

DJ, please tell Hitoshi San that I have not had a chance to install the exhaust system yet, but I will do so soon. I looked and have not found any english instructions for the apexi valve controller. He has my e-mail address or I can send it to you if you'd like, I would love a pdf file as the exhaust will be installed in the next few days and I need it desperately.

I will post an exhaust clip when its installed. I also have a comptech supercharger so that may change the sound a bit.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but Hitoshi san told me that the Jazz 02 sensors is what I should use, and that will keep my "check engine" light from coming on if I use the catalytic bypass pipes. Did I understand him correctly?

Also, is there a sonic difference between the V5.0 and the V5.1? From what I understand the only difference is that the 5.0 has the valve and the 5.1 does not. The piping looks the same.

Thanks

Guys there is a currency converter here:

http://finance.yahoo.com/currency?u

Prices can be found on GT-Rom's website in Yen on everything. I don't think you should keep asking DJ how much this and that is, it depends on the day's exchange rate. Just punch it into the calculator above and see for yourself.

Well I'm glad I listened in class today, I can answer some of your questions. About the V5 and 5.1, the pipes are slightly different in diameter which does deliver a higher pitched "F1" sound with the V5.1. I will check with Mr. Tamura in regards to the sensors and catalytic bypass pipes. As for the instructions, I will let him know they were not included with the Apexi controller and find out the next step. Thank you for your sugestion above too:wink:

DJ please tell me this is a small difference or I will sell my V5.0 and get the 5.1. Main reason I went with 5.0 was that I am worried about it being too loud and I like the idea of the valve. How big a difference is there between the two? and also how much does the F1 header contribute to the sound?

Why does GT-Rom sell so many versions of their exhaust? If it evolves, why keep the older design around? The 5.0 is more expensive than the 5.1. Is that only because of the valve system?

I was slightly mistaken with my explanation, the difference is to compensate for the valve, which helps keep the sound down, which is why the Ver5.1 is slightly louder. The newer Ver5 series is not as loud on the low end of the RPM range, which was a complaint of some customers and the reason many switched from 3 and 4. It's also the main reason the exhaust with the valve system was the first Ver5 to be sold. All have a distinct GT-One original F1 sound but you can make them cry with a tinge of Titanium...

DJ can you read and write Japanese? I am not sure are you of Japanese decent? I know you said you grew up in Galveston TX. I am just asking in case I need translation on some part of insutructions on the apexi valve. The english instructions you are sending me... I don't know how good they will be, I have seen some Japanese text translated to english so poorly it is still totally un-understandable.

Please send me a copy of this file. Thanks.

Mr. Tamura will be getting the English translations. Hopefully they will be clear enough for you to understand because I know how horrible Japanese instructions in English can be. I have seen Route KS's website and I am working as fast as possible to make sure GT-Rom.net is not seen in the same light. I am an average height black dude of African descent. I can read Hiragana, Katakana, and some Kanji. I can write a little but prefer having my wife do it. And I love cars! I've driven and owned some nice stuff... I've also been told that I'm a little too picky, but that's why I chose to work with GT-Rom and not for some of the other shops here in Japan.
DJ

And, Mr. Tamura is wondering what to do next, he wanted to make the tail lights-in production.
Now he's wondering if there is something the outside of Japan NSX community wants. (I for one want a body kit that looks tweaks the NSX the way Veilside did the RX-7) We have the resources, we just want to know what you feel like paying for:smile:

Personally I would really like a front lip Cantrell or GT-One style that can be body color yet is not hard plastic or fiberglass that breaks if it scrapes. Is this possible? My car is stock height, and any suspension will drop it further. I am already on my second lip... the NSX is just very low and driving around the city you are just asking for trouble with a low lip and a dropped suspension. But I love the look of a nice aftermarket lip that is not black plastic. I would definitely pay extra if such an item can be made.

I suppose the dye would have to be mixed into the plastic before molding.

I also have an interest in a better looking steering wheel but one that allows me to keep the airbag (and I know I am not alone on this). I am having my factory wheel re-covered, but its still the ugly factory wheel. I am worried about going aftermarket and losing my airbag. I don't want to die in my NSX, although if I have to go, that may be a good way...

like in the other thread, I think we all would like to see a HSC body kit :)
