It's pretty straight forward, Metra didn't feel they were necessary. the flat washer, and the domed black washer, go under the quarter panel, the antenna slips in from the bottom, then everything else goes on top in the same order as they arrived. Make sure the rubber gasket is stretched over the domed base piece evenly, and sweep the antenna back as you tighten the nut with a 19mm wrench.

Blue wire goes to switched power (pink wire on the stock antenna harness), and the Antenna jack plugs into the car.

Installed mine today and the reception is absolutely HORRIBLE, MUCH WORSE than factory antenna...If I didn't have an ipod I'd return this antenna in a minute. Not quite as advertised...

Agreed. I thought my installer screwed up, but when I reconnect my Shark, my beloved traffic radio station "KNX1070" comes in crystal clear again. As of right now, I get ZERO stations, including the one 15 miles away.

I'm hoping I just received a bad one, and would like to know if I can exchange it?

Bought mine from another user on prime and did the install over the weekend. I have to say the reception is horrible as well. I live next to DC and am getting hisses even with the strongest stations.

I will put my stock antenna back on next weekend.

UPDATE: Received a replacement unit the day before I had to leave the country. Glad to be back, and should install it in the next week or so.
