Got some lights on ABS/TCS/Brake

The TCS button that has green LED inside hasnt lit for long time since I got the car. But there are few more probs now (today).

Also the red hand brake light (parking brake) and another brake light usually is on when I start the car, but a tap on the brake pedal usually makes that disappear. But not today, it stays on / comes on after driving for few seconds.

Then about a minute later, I get the yellow ABS light on as well.

Then the TCS (yellow) next to that also lights up a moment later.

I noticed my rear driver's side (my car is LHD), brake light bulb is gone, so that may be the prob with the brake light warning, but what about the ABS and TCS...

thanx for help.

My first thought is that both ABS and TCS trouble lights should activate if the ABS and TCS think you are driving your car with the E-brake on. They detect whether the E-brake is active from the same switch that activates the dash light. So the first thing to look at is why the E-brake light is staying on.

I replaced the rear brake bulb, and thats working (obviously). And I thought the hand brake being engaged was most likely cause, so that it was doing that ABS/TCS cancel mode, so I try to unstick the hand brake by going mad on it... now it seems to have cured the problem. May be I should use my car more often.

Thanx for help.

Glad to hear it was just a sticky e-brake switch. FYI, if this becomes a re-curring problem, the e-brake switch is bolted on under the ebrake lever mechanism. You would need to remove the center console to get to it, but it looks like it is easy to replace.

Cheers,
Dave :)
