Gil I'd to see all of your receipts {parts and labor} added up from all the metamorphis changes the cars been through. Most of us would likely pass out.:biggrin:

I have looked at all the receipts and did not add them all because I started to get mad. LOL:frown:

Live and Learn... You're gonna be looking at the amazing finished product here soon smiling ear to ear. Hopefully cruisin ear to ear in best form yet IMO :D
 
Two words..... Looks Spectacular! Gil don't add up those receipts! Burn them all! I did at one point in my build thought of going back to stock. If i did it would have look just like yours. Cant wait to see the new set of wheels.
 
Sometime this week I should have the completed body on. Any pc that I could take off has been cleaned/polished or buffed. I still have quite a bit but small details can be done as I am able to drive the car. I have been idling the car and found the ticking of the motor very annoying. I have noticed this on a lot of NSX's due to possible valve adjustments etc. So I went ahead and performed valve adjustments while it had been raining the past weekend. I did not realize what a PITA the rear valve cover is and to ensure the new gaskets stayed in place with the motor in the car. I also went ahead and shot the covers with VHT wrinkle paint aided by a heat gun, but possibly just have a set of valve covers powder coated later.

One of the sets of wheels I will be evaluating the exterior looks with. Ordered the SSR caps, new apr studs and different colored lug nuts. These do not fit my BBK so I was unable to put those on.
I will end up changing the rear tire as it came with the wheels. A little too narrow. Will have 265/275's installed.

looks good but the esm wheels will looks better than the ssr imo:smile:

Holy crap, I just went through all 14 pages and I must commend your attention to detail and clearly an high level of OCD. I feel bad that this poor car has been nothing but get torn apart over and over the past few years. Finish this guy up and call it a day.

Glad you went the OEM route as well, widebody kids look like 1999.

Actually in most senses I am glad the car had been taken apart as much as it did, I found through each step more things missing that were suppose to be there and things that were not done the way i'd like (OCD) fork NSX's hell yeah. So from the car traveling things tend to go missing which I in the end replaced with new OEM. Everyone wants it perfect in there eyes. The car will never be as new as the 02+ but I can sure try.

Wow staring to come together and looking good so far, not sure how I feel about the wheels but maybe I'll change my mind once your done with the entire finished product.

I have some ticking out of my '91 motor valve train area. Had a valve adjustment done when I did the TB service but still had the ticking? Thought maybe 1 injector started clicking louder than the others at idle and low rpms. But after talking to a couple mechanic buddies I started leaning towards it being the LMA which is a common problem. But if the valve adjustment solved your problem then that is great news.

The wheel presence in person will always be more grand in person. They are actually going in the for sale thread after I get a photoshoot and more sit back and stare like everyone of the nsx owners out there.

As for the valve adjustment it sounded like a tracktor, I checked clearances from the manual and called an nsx specialist. In the end I did my best judgement and the tracktor sound decreased. I believe the minor ticking sound is Normal from the different Nsx's I have heard. I did check the yellow nsx and it was the same but not as prominent as mine. Now they are both at same sound level minus exhaust tone.

The ticking is most likely the LMA's - if it bothers you - get a LOUDER exhaust (AHEM - AP-X)

I am going to order the LMA's from SOS during the cars servicing soon. Didn't realize how cheap it is. I'll inquire with Chris if any other component is necessary. I copied from their website the LMA info:

The lost motion assembly (LMA) is a spring device that puts pre-load on the center VTEC rocker when it is the unlocked position (when the engine is not in VTEC mode). The early NSX (1991-99) LMA is a piston design lubricated by engine oil. Over time, contaminants in the oil cause the piston to seize resulting in the VTEC rocker rattling when not in VTEC (such as while idling). The loose VTEC rocker can result in damage and loud tapping sound while idling.

The ScienceofSpeed LMA Kit replaces the factory piston design with a revised design found in newer Hondas, including 2000-and on NSX.

A coil spring is installed with high precision stainless steel inserts that sets the coil to the correct engagement height for 1991-99 NSX. This design is not only more durable. In addition to being a good upgrade for the stock engine - the design allows for an increased 28% stroke and a larger rocker contact patch making it ideal for high lift camshafts. The kit is less than half the cost of the factory set ($386.40/set).

Compatible with 1991-1999 NSX only.

Took a break this weekend from returning from Houston TX2K12. I have a few details I want to re-work on the car. The rear bumper had some alignment problems that was bothering me. Had to remove and take it off several times to find out the inner bracket to the bumper as the culprit. Install the DALI carbon diffusor for now and create possibly my own 5 or 6 fin carbon diffusor if I do not buy from a vendor.

I need to re-install the headlights and bumper. Order a horn for the car since it is AWOL. Never returned with one. Probably install Hella Horns.

Install new tires.

Await production of VROOM's mirrors

Register and State inspect, final paint detail then photoshoot. Exterior will be done.

I am debating on whether to keep the front low lip color matched or gloss black. I am referring to the DOWNFORCE lip. I have been thinking of Gloss black to even the lower portion of the car.

the dual exhaust tips on the 2002+ rear bumper look BOSS!!!!

im a fan of body colored front lips but gloss black would match the gloss black wheels nicely!

I too have an annoying ticking sound from my engine. I'm about to do the valve adjustment, VVIS delete and getting the injectors cleaned and flow tested. Ticking is probably normal, but could also be a spun rod bearing if it is loud enough. That would be bad. Really bad :eek:

The past few days I have been a little busy and have not worked on the NSX. I still have small details to take care of and will do so. As for the exterior this is how she looks so far.

Messed around with the camera but will have a shoot done once I do the final detail of the exterior and interior.

absolutely sick! so glad you went with glossy paint instead of the matte finish! :eek::eek::eek: woah!!!!!!!!!
