Gigantic Antenna Crisis!!

There really should be a way to intergrate it into the back window of the car - just like most radios are done on several vehicles. Otherwise, only go up for the radio but not for the CD - as this is how the Toyota MR2 does it, and that car was 91-95, and the NSX still has it going up regardless through the 2005 models, so it's certainly not a lack of technology.

.

The NSX has two antennas - one integrated into the rear hatch glass and the retractable one. The radio chooses which has the best signal, but the retactable one goes up and stays up any time the radio is on. But, the window antenna is only good in strong signal areas. This has been covered in multiple threads. I do like the idea of a retractable "half-mast" antenna.

Do a search, and you'll find a company (SOS???) sells a device that retracts the antenna when using the CD player (and maybe even when using the tape player?)

Yes, the NSX is technologically "slow" on a few things such as this. Note that my 1984 Corvette autmatically keeps the dashboard lights on bright if you turn on the parking lights or headlights when its still light outside - such as required in many states when its raining. I had to design and build a circuit to add that to the NSX. Same things goes for most NA1 NSX's on flashing lights when you use keyless entry - they don't do that but even a Ford Taurus beeped the horn in the early '90s. SO, I added a circuit to flash all directional signal lamps when using keyless entry.
